ive seen the trailer for this movie attatched to EVERYTHING... im growing quite tired of it.
it might beat The Game Plan record lol

How can you be tired of such a genius looking movie?

Funny I've only seen the trailer online (albeit I have seen much fewer movies this summer). I did read about it on EW this weekend though and it was interesting to see it was shot in a real asylum and the effect it had on dear Marty.

I read the book a while back and liked it quite a bit, but thought it was middling for the genius of LEhane. This is one of the few from his books that looks like it could surpass the novel. We'll see.

If there are twists in this movie, lets keep it in the spoiler tages please.

interested to see how Scorcese handles something like this...looks like a ghost story on crack

That sucks that it got pushed back but that will be just one more good/great film to watch next year after this subpar year of '09.

Wow. So close to the release? Figured they would have known about Inception's shooting schedule for months. Who cares about Oscar nominations.

This is a huge WTF move, since there pushing it out of Oscar season and out of contention.

I don't see why people are complaining about the whole Oscar thing.

It will be eligible for the Oscars in 2011.

Movies released a week before Shutter Island's original October 2nd Release Date:

- Surrogates (with Bruce Willis)
- Fame
- The Invention of Lying

The week of Shutter Island's original release date:

- Toy Story/Toy Story 2 Release in 3D

The Week after Shutter Island's original release date:

- Couples Retreat
- Whip It
- Zombieland

And very smart, it'll compete with the Wolfman.

I had a bad feeling this would happen. Now that makes two movies I'm looking forward too at the end of this year.

Wow. Well that sucks.

I was so looking forward to see this in 09.

Something needs to move to October 2nd, because with the move of Shutter Island to February, all of the other films to be released that day will be in limited release.

Speculation seems to be they don't have the money in the 4th Quarter to market it properly for Oscar consideration.
“Paramount told the filmmakers it doesn’t have the financing in 2009 to spend the $50M to $60M necessary to market a big awards pic like this.”

I believe this happened to a few films last year due to the high price of Benjamin Button.

Okay, Universal has an open spot for The Wolfman now. The first week of October no longer has a scary movie, better get to it before Sony decides to move The Stepfather or Zombieland up to it.

why? seriously, i'm just, ugh. i'm tired of shifint release dates for films i want to see. If the push back The Road AGAIN i will officially....well i don't know what i'll do but it will not be pleasent. lol

NOOOOOOOO!

The fall just got much less interesting

Damn. Now what else might be able to save this ****** movie year besides Inglorious Basterds and Bad Lieutenant?

Wow, it played ahead of my Inglorious Basterds movie and said October.

Damn I was really looking forward to this . Why are they worried about the Oscars , Last I heard they will have ten best picture nominees.
