We should all write strongly worded emails to the studio :cmad: Shutter Island in September damnit!

September would be better but october would still be nice. I saw the trailer with Basterds and thought, "Damn, only two months. I can't ****ing wait!" Then I get home all happy and what do I see??!

God, the move was at the last minute too. Reminds me of The Soloist..

Remember how The Soloist was suppose to come out last Fall and got pushed back to April? When The Soloist finally came out, it barely got attention.

That kinda sucks. I've been seeing the trailer for this movie the last 3 or 4 times I've been to the movies.

Any reason it's been pushed back?

Even though I can't wait to see this movie & have not read the book I can almost bet that Leo is the missing patient

Well, to be fair September is cluttered with a bunch of horror movies. But this is more of a thriller, but you know what I mean about getting lost in the bunch.

I guess they looked at Body of Lies Box Office and decided to move it.

They moved it where I guess they think they still have a shot for an Oscar.

The bad news is that it's in the dumping zone of Feb (though Jan is worse). A Di Caprio and Scorses movie moved to Feb? WHAT THE?

What you said and they think it'll perform better at the box office. Cause I doubt their scared of Saw 6.:hehe:

I'm sorry, I didn't state why they moved it.

They moved it because Paramount didn't have the funds to support a movie like this, during this year (recession) That's why they moved it to next year, but it's still open for the Oscar season.

One article suggested that, but they still made a ton off the picture so it doesn't make much sense. GI Joe didn't do good though
Its made close to a 100 million already.

If any movie didn't do good at the BO its Funny People.

But I think GI Joe is doing decent enough, despite what it had going against it.

Well GI Joe has made something like 210 Mil. For a film that cost 175 Mil. plus another 100 or so for marketing that's not really good.

that's why I said it did decent enough, but not gangbusters. But it wasn't a massive failure as some predicted.

Joe did fantastic ofur nbubmers. Not great but enough to possibly warrant a sequel and enough not be a failure for the studio.

With that said, the MUCH MORE IMPORTANT FILM got moved back. Why? Because Leo couldn't promote it? They were worried about promoting a MARTIN SCORCESE PICTURE? How hard can it be? I know the book is good and I know the director and cast is amazing. This had potential to be one of Scorcese's best and unless they really screwed it up (doubtful) it was Oscar worthy at least.

I would hope thats not the reason it got pushed back, nowadays who knows for sure though.

Pretty surprsing move...I get suspicious of movies that move to the first of the year.

It's Scorsese and DiCaprio, how can this thing possibly be bad? And I don't understand how poeple would be suspicious because of these sudden moves. It means money and competition, not the quality of it. Studios always think about quanity over quality.

You saying that doesn't stop me from not anticipating the movie anymore.

You're not anticipting it anymore? I'm pissed too, but that doesn't mean the movie is gonna suck because of the push. The push was because of promotion and lack of money for it.

So they say.

And I didn't say that it was going to suck, I just don't have faith that it's going to be as good as I thought it would be.

if you let the move of a release date alter your personal opinion of the movie, then waiting a couple extra months are the least of your problems
