They're canon until Lucas decides they're not or does something that overwrites them. Which he probably won't do, since he seems to be content playing in the little period between the two trilogies and most of the books cover the post-original trilogy period.

So...Osborn's bout to get his ass raped by the marvel heroes. Finally we have a true superhero "Event" where the heroes band together to stop a threat. Even though i KNOW it wont happen, i'm still hoping that Bendis surprises me and has Spider-man deliver the final blow to Osborn. It just wouldnt be right otherwise. He killed Gwen Stacy for God's sakes, Spidey deserves this! lol
