Siege

I can't wait to see Tony's reaction when Steve gives him the briefcase, and I hope Steve makes mention of the Iron Patriot armor and ugly paint job when he's kicking Norman's ass.

Actually maybe send him to the Negative Zone, I could see that happening.

That's an interesting idea. I guess the easiest way to defeat Sentry would be to have Cloak standing ready, Thor swats Sentry and Cloak catches him. Game over.

The thing I already see coming that is gonna be dumb, is that Sentry's gonna be defeating everybody, and for a moment it'll look like no one knows how to defeat him. Now, lacking such foresight is fine for most of the heroes, even Steve Rogers since you could argue that he'd optimistically think some sense can be talked into him. But Nick Fury not having a plan to take out Osborn's biggest weapon? I don't buy that for a second. Especially since he deliberately DIDN'T bring one of the people who has a clear shot at taking Sentry out (phobos).

Sentry is going to be beating the living **** out of the heroes ala Superboy prime (ripping people in half, tearing arms off. Then, Norman of all people is going to step up and look at what he's unleashed, and he'll trybto talk some sense into Bob, which is either going to end with a) norman getting his head popped or b) it actually works and sentry flies off to kill himself or live in exile or become the next big bad of the cosmic stories.

Of course by this point Norman isn't going to be in control ever again, but id like to think bendis would have him 'save the day' in the end even though he unleashed God with a capital G.

That's probably the only way to save The Sentry character right now, is to send him off to space. Look what it did for Vulcan and Annihilus.

Thats not a bad theory SouleSS. Bendis likes to try and throw curveballs at the end of his stories, which is why most of his events fail, i wouldnt be surprised if thats how he ends Siege. Although, for once it would be nice to just see the good guys beat up the bad guys and save the day. I hope Bendis chooses that path.

Not if they stay true to Sentry's ridiculous power levels...

If Nova still had Worldmind in his head giving him info he'd have a chance. I'm sure Worldmind could find a weakness in Sentry.

But he hasn't got Worldmind in his head anymore has he?

Steve's crew seems kind of underpowered for the task at hand. The most powerful members of his task force are Ms. Marvel and Vision 2.0, who are upper-middle tier, generally. Now, they're presumably expecting to meet up with Thor, but still.

Bendis sure has a knack for writing "Gods" like they were pansies.Thor and Ares went down way too easy !!

The Thor fight was short, but the power-levels arrayed against him made sense, and he wasn't totally down, as #2 showed; I thought his Thor was pretty good.

His Ares is actually much more formidable than the classic version; see the infamous 60s comic where Pluto boosts Ares' power "threefold" and Thor still beats him in like two panels. The Sentry/Ares fight also, I thought, made sense, because Ares can't fly and doesn't have superspeed, which gives Sentry huge advantages.

An accurate assessment. As much as it galls me as a Thor fan to see Thor get taken down within a page, the fight in Siege #1 was fine. Anyone can be overwhelmed, even someone as powerful as Thor, and it's not like Osborn put street-level crooks with capguns up against Thor; he specifically called for class 50 powerhouses, minimum.

I know it won't happen because the Sentry is the current "supreme powerhouse" bogeyman of the Marvel universe, but it'd be really, really satisfying to see Thor kick his ass. Have Thor strap on the belt of strength or whip out a godblast, even, but the visual of Thor taking the Sentry down after all this would really make my day.

That'd be sooooo sick if Thor Godblasts Sentry into dust.

But yea, thanks to Bendis Sentry would probably just reform 10 seconds later and eviscerate Thor.

They are gonna have to do a Doomsday with Sentry, just send him some where far, far away or trap him in a different dimension or something.

Franklin Richards can just make a New Universe for Sentry. Him and The Void alone for all eternity.

Eat it, Cape Man!!!

:ff: :ff: :ff:

With the recent revelation, I think it would be a good story to have Cloak and Dagger become his personal saviors.

Yeah, but he can just be like "yah I don't feel like hanging out in your Cloak world or your Franklin Richards world, so I'll come back to our reality, thanks" because he's the Sentry and he has no limit to what he can do.

I really don't understand the need to keep Sentry around; he has a bored personality, power level is too ridiculously high (killing both Carnage & Ares by ripping them in half is rather stupid imo), and he is more often than not being made fun at. Marvel will be better served to get rid of him for good and not allowing him to either run away like a little girl, or rip people in half in nanosecond.
