Siege

That's the story I got to explain why there were no copies of Invincible Iron Man, though I got Siege. I was told that Marvel is already arranging for a reprint of all this week's comics, to be sent out next week.

thats what i was told, i trusted the guy cause i've been going to his shop for near on 23+ years. he said something like 15-20% got through

I just picked up #2 and in the pages where Steve Rogers gets his team together, it lists all the heroes. I dont know if my eyes fail me, but I see the name Hawkeye and Hawkeye isn't in presence.

Hawkeye is the girl who is under the name.

So Siege is the comic Steve is now in? How many issues has he been in?

"Siege" is a miniseries, and the second issue just came out. Steve is one of many characters in it.

Oh, so if I wanted to get comics with the back to life Steve Siege would be the one?

Right now, Bullseye and a girl named Kate Bishop are Hawkeye and Hawkeye is Ronin.

We live in interesting times.

Yes, it's the first conflict he's been in since he's been "reborn". I'm not sure if the current Two America's arc in Captain America will have an appearance by Steve, it might only be Bucky and Falcon. The most recent issue of New Avengers had Rogers back in action too.

Two more months and Clint will be back where he belongs, as Hawkeye. Bullseye will probably be dead and as for Kate Bishop....maybe she'll become Ronin....or maybe Lady Hawkeye.

I wouldn't mind their sharing the name. It's not like Kate's around that much given that Marvel's apparently determined to wait literally forever for Heinberg to grace us with another Young Avengers series. :o

He has expressed some serious concerns about being out of his league in Siege. Natural, cowardly griping or foreshadowing? You decide. :ninja:

Nah, I think he'll just make a run for it and go aback to getting his ass whipped by DD......then again, there is a Lady Bullseye now......

Update on those Siege-related oneshots solicited for April:

Djurdjevic's always good for a cover.

Good creative teams; I'll probably get the first three. Gage on the Caps one means it won't have any larger significance, but it should be a solid story. And any YA material is good.

February 5, 2010 - Late last month we debuted details on the fourth and final month of Siege books. Since that time, Marvel, and fans, have been focused squarely on Heroic Age, learning of the massive changes coming to the Avengers franchise. But despite the fact that all eyes seem to be on May 2010, there are some details on Siege that have yet to be revealed. Namely five character-based one-shots. Today we reveal the creative teams behind those books, get some first details and debut a stunning linked cover by Marko Djurdjevic.

Let's get right into it. We have five titles that focus on key characters in and near Siege. The targets are: Spider-Man & Venom; the two Captain Americas; Nick Fury and his Secret Warriors; the Young Avengers; and Loki. Here are the teams handling each one-shot:

SIEGE: CAPTAIN AMERICA
Writer: Christos Gage
Artist: Federico Dallocchio
Cover Artist: Marko Djurdjevic

SIEGE: YOUNG AVENGERS
Writer: Sean McKeever
Artist: Mahmud A. Asrar
Cover Artist: Marko Djurdjevic

SIEGE: LOKI
Writer: Kieron Gillen
Artist: Jamie McKelvie
Cover Artist: Marko Djurdjevic

SIEGE: SECRET WARRIORS
Writer: Jonathan Hickman
Artist: Alessandro Vitti
Cover Artist: Marko Djurdjevic

SIEGE: SPIDER-MAN
Writer: Brian Reed
Artist: Marco Santucci
Cover Artist: Marko Djurdjevic

No doubt you're wanting more details on these titles. Though it seems likely the events of March's Siege #3 will impact what happens in these April-shipping titles, we managed to find out some basic details from Executive Editor Tom Brevoort. Would these one-shots connect thematically? What drove the need to publish them? What topics would they be addressing? Brevoort offered these comments:

"These five additional Siege tie-ins don't connect, outside of the linking Marko Djurdjevic covers, but they're all united in that they all tell character-focused stories at a particular point in Siege. As is typical of these sorts of events, as we got further into the planning and execution, we saw there were some opportunities to expand on some specific moments, the points of view of certain characters, and the actions of others, in greater depth and greater detail than there was room for within the core Siege book. So these five additional specials help us to take advantage of that.

"So Captain America concerns the roles of the two Caps, Steve and Bucky, and their relationship, Spider-Man focuses on Spidey and his opposite number, Venom, and also on Ms Marvel just a bit, Secret Warriors gives you insight into Nick Fury's viewpoint on the war, and how it dovetails with his larger gameplan in the regular SW series, Young Avengers focuses on the always-popular Young Avengers, particularly Wiccan and Patriot, and Loki gives you greater insight at this crucial moment into the God of Mischief's goals and objectives, as well as how he got to this point."

We've referenced the Marko Djurdjevic cover several times before. Let's unveil the stunning piece now. This is must see art:

Actually, his is bigger and better....sooooo, I guess you can suck it. :o

I have no interest of sucking your micro penis,CaptainCanada. :o
Your loss.:o

It feels like Djurdjevic's been doing less cover work lately (maybe because of his recent work on Thor?); I really miss his Daredevil covers, so it's nice to see him here. I've really wanted to see him do the covers for the regular Captain America book, because Epting's covers were usually one of the weakest parts of his art, and the guy doing them now is okay, but not great.

I'm all up on the Cap, Loki (GILLEN! :awesome:), and Young Avengers specials. The other two don't interest me.

The Sentry is apparently the most powerful character ever, as far as Bendis seems to think. He just has the Sentry do whatever he wants, basically.

Bah, I want another Marvel/DC cross-over so Supers can show Sentry who's the most powerful character ever is..... Batman.
