Siege

Bendis so it's going to be Cage(which is unlikely)or Dr. Voodoo. More than likely the latter since he is the sorcerer supreme.

At least Voodoo is a little more interesting than most of the 3rd string characters Bendis falls in love with and makes us read about in every single one of his books.

The original Human Torch
Hypno Hustler
The Thing throws Hostess Twinkies at Norman Osborne

Actually, the Original Human Torch might not be that far out....I mean he is back, and he owned Sentry last time they fought.....of course that would require Bendis to have read something he didn't write so......

so scratch Human torch off the list...more randomness...hmmmm
Power Pack
Son of Satan
Barry Allen

Maaaaaaaaannnnnn f**k Barry Allen.

Buried Alien however would be awesome.

it would be awesome if there was this big dramatic battle..Cap, Tony and Thor fighting side by side and all of a sudden a yellow and red flash whizzes by and knocks out the big baddie

Then Bendis would drag that mystery out for a year and then just be like oh it was the Sentry fighting back against the Void. and the proof will be a further extension of the Dark Avengers 5 Guys Burgers scene

When was this?

You're kidding right? That fight ranks just a little lower on the stupidity scale than the SS/BP armbar incident.

I'm gonna have to agree with Mr. Nubsies P. Nubsly, Esq. on this one. Spidey beating Firelord was only classic in the sense that it's one of the most glaring examples of writer bulls***.

I have to disagree with you both. If you read the story, you'll see that yes, Firelord has enough raw power to obliterate the entire island of Manhatten, and Spider-Man along with it. However, he let his pride get the better of him and decided to try and take Spider-Man on hand-to-hand, and basically got over-whelmed by a character who posesses far superior speed. Looking at Firelord's stats, you can see he is a lot stronger that Spider-Man but not nescessarily enough to compensate getting hit multiple times in quick succession...had he come at Spidey full tilt, then sure; Spider-man would be dead.

But he didn't.

Bad decisions have cost many a proud warrior a loss in battle.

Just ask General Custer. :yay:

To me, that storyline was a far more realistic display of Spider-Man's abilities than the usual scenario of him struggling against say, The Vulture.

Firelord is a herald of Galactus which allows him to travel galaxy to galaxy in minutes. And you mean to tell me Spidey overwhelmed him with speed?! That is bad writing CapStacy.

Sure, he can fly really fast in space, but quote me an issue where Firelord has used super speed in a fist fight prior to that storyline.

If he had used warp speed in the lower stratosphere, he would have probably destroyed NYC.

isnt it a basic ability of a herald is to be able to tap into the Power cosmic to augment their abilities???

I can't really see Thor taking out Sentry easily. Whatever Osborn gave Sentry (in DA #13, was it?) I think, not only heightened his powers but also has the Void just itching to get out. Now, I 'm kinda' thinking Osborn really wanted Sentry to ignore the his "dark-half" so he could take advantage of that later on.

We've only got 2 issues left, but I don't think any of the Heroes will be able to beat Sentry. And since Bendis is writing this, it'll probably be an ending that none of us sees coming.

The serum Osborn Gave gave Bob, released the Void within him. Especially with the black talk bubbles. The Sentry's gone. There is no Sentry. There is only the Void. He's a junkie who just got his fix, ya know? The Void is definitely in control now.

It's gotta be Phobos who saves the day. Maybe with Emma Frost with an assist. Or really out of left field: The Scarlet Witch returns and Phobos, Emma, and Dr. Voodoo lay the psychological, reality altering, supernatural smack down on him. Then he wets his pants and cries.

I disagree with what you said about that fight, because Frankly, Sentry needs to be beat ALOT like, so much he DIES. But holy god I remember reading that armbar incident and just throwing the comic. :hehe:

Even when I hate a character and want them beat a lot, I still don't want it done via obscenely bad writing.

lol (at your throwing the comic). That's the kind of reaction that the armbar incident deserves

I dig Bob so I didn't mind too much. Especially since Ares will be back eventually. I just wish there were more middle ground to the Sentry. He's either trembling in a corner or ripping people in half(sometimes in space).
