Siege

Are Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel still f***ing?

One of them was a mobster's son, I think, from back in that Marvel Knights Spider-Man series. I don't remember anyone else. But I still like to call Gargan "Venorpion" because he'll never, ever be Venom, as far as I'm concerned. It doesn't bother me anymore because Eddie's got the Anti-Venom schtick and that seems to be going well for him, but I just refuse to call anyone other than Eddie + the symbiote "Venom."

Somewhat ironic considering Venom seems like a pretty big ripoff of Scorpion in the first place:o

Gargan Venom > Brock Venom

Mah cardboard box tells me things.

Do you honestly think Bendis would have had McCain step up and dismantle Hammer?

I just want to add, I'm not pro-McCain or Republican or anything. I have a loathing for both political parties, I just think its silly that Marvel couldn't control its hard-on for Obama and had to insert him right smack dab into the middle of the issue. I would be here saying how stupid it was, be it Obama, McCain or Bush. I can't wait for the great big hug between him and Cap in the next issue, holding hands, etc.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Bendis would have McCain do that. Or do you think Marvel's plans for future stories was entirely hinging on the outcome of he 2008 election?

I wouldn't take any depiction of the president in comics to actually be the current president in real life. Obviously Marvel time doesn't go in real time, so the president is just a background character with maybe only a slight amount of characterization added to him. I mean, Norman taking power, heroes being killed/arrested, all that happened under Obama's admin too, technically. That first whole year (with Dark Avengers) pretty much made the president seem incompetent. Plus, Im pretty sure they had scenes with the president while Bush was in charge that didn't make him look like a complete *******.

Problem being that Molecule Man couldn't do squat against Sentry, so I don't think any reality manipulators (which essentially Reece is) would do much good. Tribunal or Eternity - sure. But not Franklin or Galactus or someone.

Though it would be helpful if Reed could just whip out the old Ultimate Nullifier. If Sentry is just an insane guy, then he won't know what it can do, attack anyway, and be nullified. If he is possessed by the Wrath of God, then he'll know exactly what it is, and back off.

I think you guys -- and so many others -- are disregarding and overlooking the potential of The Scarlet Witch to return and tell Sentry "There is no Void."

It ties Bendis' entire run thus far all together with nice little red and pink bow.

I'd rather she come back, expend all her epic reality manipulation powers against the Void, and then return to the Avengers with her normal magic and hex abilities and a distinct lack of craziness.

^^^Sounds better than my idea of Wolverine and Cyclops gutting er with :awesome: faces

Hmmm... being that we will at some point be getting an Avengers movie (hopefully, multiple Avengers movies) I think this whole Sentry/Void thing, if his descent into madness is done right, could be some great fodder for a movie plot, just a thought. And yeah, that Scarlet Witch idea... very, very "Bendis".

I honestly think Doctor Voodoo will come in and save the day since he's the new Sorcerer Supreme.......................out of the blue that is.

None of those will happen because they make no sense at all from a storytelling perspective. You don't have this big build up and then have a character come in and save the day that hasn't even been introduced in the story.
It will be someone already introduced, or a character that's popularly known that will turn this around.

Scarlet Witch makes sense if you consider that pretty much everyone who's reading Siege probably read or is at least aware of the events of Avengers: Disassembled.

But, since you're the big Sentry fan, who are you thinking of? I'd have obviously picked Thor (with the belt of strength and whatever else he could find, probably), except Bendis has shown us in the previous 3 issues that he doesn't think Thor can fight his way out of a paper bag, let alone beat the Void.

I'd say it's Sentry who kills himself in order to save the day. :p

I'm calling it: Brother Voodoo or Scarlett Witch will find a way to separate the Void and Sentry, therefore weakening Sentry into a 70-90 ton guy. Scarlett Witch makes the most sense since Loki has been running around pretending to be her and he's been "killed" but since Bendis is writing it, we can expect Peter Cottontail to save the day.

Eh, that'd just be a more violent version of the ending to his first mini. And his second mini, come to think of it. :o

Could be Loki, I mean, the guy hasn't been around since like the first issue. He's gotta do something:o

Brother Voodoo could use the save, help cement him as Sorcerer Supreme.

If that ****e Wanda did it, I still ant Wolverine to gut her right afterward.

I want Wanda to do it, but then immediately lose her access to Chaos Magic in the process, so she's just down to her probability powers.

You think Bendis reads other tie ins??!! :hehe:

He wrote that one. Siege #1.

Phobos pops up and scares the Void with his glowy eyes. Scares him so bad he splits in two, Void is defeated, Bob reynolds with a clean slate joins the Avengers.

hmm i think we could have a battle of a superman 3 type...sentry and void become two separate entities and them fighting to the death and Robert Reynolds dies a hero after all that's happened.
thus the end of the sentry.
osborn is alive but in the slammer babbling in his loony green goblin speak, the dark avengers are rounded up and some arrested yet some escape(daken)..
The president offers nick fury the head job again back at the revamped shield and all is well in the marvel world...for now..

Is this before or after all the remaining mutants take turns killing her? :o

I imagine it'd be the depowered mutants who'd take turns killing her. Anyway, I assuming that Hope Summers will fix Wanda's hex.
