Siege

I think they said that the Dark Avenger will be joining New Avengers, not Avengers.

That was my understanding. I think the guy on the Avengers cover is a costume-less Steve. Hank was my first guess, but now we know he's going to be in Avengers Academy. He could pull double-duty, but I doubt he's going to ditch his Wasp costume anytime soon.

On Marvel.com Bendis has said that Ares and Thor are at the same power level. I don't know much about ares except that he is Greek and Sentry ripped him apart. But he isn't as powerful as my beloved Thor, is he?

He hasn't been historically. He's not quite as strong as Thor, he has no godly gifts except being a particularly vicious fighter (which never really helped him out in his fights against Thor or Hercules, who are also great fighters), and he doesn't have a magical weapon comparable to Mjolnir.

Ignore Bendis. Thor had the Odinpower now.

See, I always thought Herc was shown to be stronger than Ares and that Herc and Thor are of similar power levels :whatever:

That is what's always been shown. Ares has gotten his ass kicked pretty soundly by Herc and/or Thor on numerous occasions. But I guess Bendis arbitrarily decided the gods should be more equal, so he's been saying Ares is on the level of Herc and Thor.

To be honest i think it makes more sense if Ares is on or at least near the levels of Thor and Herc. He's the friggin god of war for cripes sakes!

He's a god of war. And Hercules is the god of strength and Thor is the most powerful god in the Norse pantheon.

I always thought Thor and Ares should be much stronger than Hercules they are Gods, Hercules isn't he is a demigod, so I don't know why he should be even mentioned in the same breath as those two he is basically a half breed, but that's just me.

Hercules was raised to full godhood upon his mortal death. He's as much of a god in terms of power as any other Olympian.

When was Hank in Avengers Academy confirmed?

I like Hank Pym leading Avengers Academy, but I also want him on the main Avengers book as well. If Spider-Man and Wolverine can be on Avengers and New Avengers, Hank can be on Avengers Academy and Avengers.

I'd really just like to see the five founding members back together in the Avengers book beyond just a couple of issues.

I just want Hank Pym to keep leading his own Avengers team.:csad:

It's crazy when you think about it that in the storied history of the Avengers the first 5 members (including the Hulk) have never got back together for an adventure. The closest was when Banner helped the Avengers against Diablo's Hulk army during Busiek's run. Unless I'm missing another occurrence.

That would be nifty. I don't really need the Hulk to be there, but if it were the Professor or the Green Scar, that could be pretty awesome.

Honestly, I think it's time to get away from the mindless "Hulk SMASH!!!" kind of character and focus on a more intelligent Hulk (like the Professor or Green Scar) and actually act like a hero as opposed to something that people think is a monster for good reason. It's time for the Hulk to return to the Avengers fighting alongside Steve, Tony, Hank, Janet, and Thor.

And dare I say, I'd also like to see Daredevil join the Avengers. Just to see how it would work.

You have to understand "Gods" are Magical super beings. thier biology is vastly different from others being. sometimes demi-gods are born with enhanced abilites, sometimes no abilites, sometime they inherit a power greater then their divine parents. Its the wonky Biology of "gods" its impossible to predict. In Hercs Case he inherited a amplified version of his fathers immense physical strength.
