Iron Fist Simone Missick is Misty Knight

I'm down for a Daughters of the Dragon show. Simone Missick was basically the co-lead in Luke Cage. If Jessica Henwick can hang then I can definitely see this show happening.

There is already a lot of demand for Misty to have her own show. Daughters of the Dragon would seem mostly likely, if that were to happen.

There's not necessarily a lot of demand. It's more like some people voicing they'd like to see it. There was demand for an Agent Carter series after she got her own short. That's the difference.

Huh? Misty is getting similar buzz to when the Punisher appeared on DD and folks were asking for him to get a spinoff. Only difference is that I believe Marvel/Netflix has plans for him to get a spinoff before season 2 of DD even premiered. But there's nothing stopping them from trying something new/different. :)

To me having buzz isn't really translating to demand for Daughters of the Dragon. She's having buzz because she's a great breakout performer for the show which she is.

Maybe she'll be in Iron Fist after all?

As for Misty—who will next appear in Netflix’s Iron Fist series before street-level superhero team-up series The Defenders—fans are already campaigning to crown her the next solo star of a Marvel TV show. If Missick had her way, that contract would already be signed, sealed, and delivered.
“That’s from your mouth to God’s ears,” she says excitedly. “That would be absolutely amazing. Amaaazing!”

I don't think we have any evidence she's in Iron Fist other than that Jeph Loeb thing that got retracted.

Also, it doesn't really make sense considering where things were left with Luke Cage. She's now targeting Black Mariah and Shades.

I don't need a Misty Knight netflix show. She's already a lead on Luke Cage and could end up becoming a regular on Iron Fist depending on how things unfold. I don't know how many different Marvel series Netflix can juggle at once but at the current rate of 2 a year I'd rather keep the number of properties down. Moon Knight is pretty much the only other series I'd like to see added.

I agree. IMHO, it's too early to start having Misty Knight's own series or Daughters of the Dragon. We got enough shows to deal with as it is.

So now we have:

Daredevil
Jessica Jones
Luke Cage
Iron Fist
The Punisher
The Defenders

That's six shows right there. All of which could have multiple seasons. If Defenders is successful, chances are they will want to try it again and do another event.

That's a lot to map out in terms of TV.

Here's my other problem with Daughters of the Dragon, it potentially keeps Misty Knight from getting involved in Iron Fist, which is where I ideally want to see her.

I feel like Jessica Jones Season 2 is going to be Daughters of the Dragon. I wouldn't be surprised if the show is effectively retitled.

Didn't say there was demand for Daughters of the Dragon, I said a Misty spinoff and that's based on Simone killing it as basically the co-lead in LC. I only mentioned DotD because, if a spinoff were to happen, that would be the most likely.

I feel like Misty was such a great and huge part of Luke Cage that it'd be hard to give her a solo / DotD show because it would leave such a hole in the LC cast - unless they do spin Luke off into a Heroes for Hire show (although I'd imagine Misty would be included in that).

Well tbh, I'm not *that* eager to see a spinoff. I would prefer to see her as a regular on a second season of IF (if that were to happen). It will be interesting to see how they handle a second season of LC and IF because Misty was a huge part of LC but she's also an important part of Danny's story. I doubt Simone could do both, not as a regular, at least.

Yeah that would my concern. Doing a spin-off would keep her off those shows, which I don't want to see.

There already is a Heroes for Hire show. It's called Defenders.

Make it happen Marvel!

EDIT:

I really appreciate what Missick had to say about the relationship. In case anyone hasn't noticed lately, I'm a huge fan of Iron Fist and this pairing, and it's very important to me that we see it happen. I really want it to get done right.

Marvel and Netflix, let's see Mistny happen in 2017!

Misty's IGN interview gave me an idea about Luke/Misty. Here's what we can do to address the Luke and Misty thing. Maybe Danny and Misty finally get together. They are laying in bed post-hanky panky:

DANNY: So...you know Luke?

MISTY: ...Yeah...I mean, we know each other.

DANNY: How's that?

MISTY: ...Why are you so interested? This isn't some alpha pack thing is it?

DANNY: Just curious.

MISTY: Coffee. We went out for coffee once. Things didn't work out. We just didn't click, not how we click. And then he ended up meeting Claire, and I ended up meeting you. It wasn't meant to be.

DANNY: So...just coffee?

MISTY: Just coffee.

DANNY: Cool.

Later with Luke and Danny:

LUKE: So...uh...you and Misty?

DANNY: Yeah, me and Misty. She's great.

LUKE: Good for you two, she's a fine lady. But uh, I mean she did tell you about how things didn't work out between us? You're cool with that right?

DANNY: Oh yeah. She told me all about the bad coffee date and how you two just didn't click at all and things quickly fizzled after that.

LUKE: ...Yeah...umm...yup. It was just one awkward coffee date. It didn't go anywhere after that one time.

DANNY: It's cool man. It happens. I didn't know people these days go out for coffee dates though. Just seems like a strange thing to do for a date, but whatevs. We're cool. Hey, speaking of coffee, let's go grab some?

LUKE: ...Let's go do that, I love me a good...smoking hot cup 'o joe. *Danny turns away and you can see Luke's relief, that's one secret he gets to keep for now.*

OK my reason for this sort of total fanfic scene is that Danny's been secluded in an ancient city for 15 years since he was 10 years old. Why would he get the metaphor? We all get that going out for coffee is a euphemism for doing the hibbity bibbity. Except Danny doesn't. That could be funny. Hey it worked for Captain America, who didn't even know what fondue meant. I just think it would be funny if they gave Danny the coffee story and Danny being this sheltered rich kid wouldn't get it all. He would take it literally.
