South Park owns both Family Guy and The Simpsons! Although I think Family Guy isn't too far behind. The Simpsons should finish up after the movie though.

Honestly, I think the Simpsons and southpark creators are just mad because Familyguy has gained much more popularity than them as of late.

And there is also going to be that Simpson's movie. I cant imagine seeing it.
When i watch it on tv i dont ever laugh out loud, so i cant imagine being a theatre and laughing either.

As muh as i love and grew up watching the simpsons,
I think the movie is gonna come out terrible and cause the simpsons a huge downfall.

Fart jokes? To be honest there aren't really that many fart jokes on family guy. And the ones they do have(I'm not going to lie) aren't funny. But I never thought fart jokes were funny.
And what can I say. Making fun of celebrities is one of the funniest things now a days, Imo. Most movies, singers, actresses, ect have it coming.

i still watch the show...but it's more of a habit than anything else. every so often there's a good episode in there but so many of them are just...meh. not good, not bad, just there.

well, the simpsons were never really meant to be one of those shows where you lauph every second and stuff. It's meant to be an actual show with a purpose and actual plots. And of course family guy is doing better NOW but only because the simpsons have been on for so long. Simpsons can balance their show. Family Guy will last for like five more season sbecause they use too many jokes in on episode. So here are my conclusions:

Simpsons in General beats family guy
simpsons and family guy now= both suck

I also hate family guy because they can't be funny without making fun of jewish people, black people, nasty and dirty jokes, etc.

In all honesty, I dont see why the two are being compared. The Simpsons was almost like a live action sitcom in its realism, whereas Family Guy is all insane, irreverant humor that could never be done with real actors. Although I like Family Guy better, I think that the first 8-10 seasons of The Simpsons were pretty classic.

I would be so specific about that chain of events. And no, the average episode doesn't even have one fart joke in it. None.

The problem with Family Guy was already explained in South Park but to those saying animators are just pissed because Family Guy is popular, grow up and think a little. Family Guy is one of the cheapest shows to put on, the animation is utter crap, the stories are drivel, it's only redeaming factor is that it has it's funny moments. Now let's move to actually talented animators like Mike Judge, Matt Groening, etc How much harder is it going be now to put another Futurama or King of the Hill on the air considering that the price is probably far more expensive than Family Guy? Anyway Futurama> Simpons or Family Guy...

And you pointed out ONE episode, and named two others.
You will probabably will only see one fart joke maybe every three episodes.
I never said they weren't in the show, but not as constantly spammed as you suggest.

There have been around 70 episodes of family guy. I've seen them all. I'd like you to show me 60 episodes that each contain a fart joke. Just the clips from youtube. Hell, show me even 30 fart joke clips and I'll shut up. I'd say, at tops, 20 of those episodes have a fart joke in them.

Well I love the Simpsons and I used to hate Family Guy for being a Simpsons rip off. Then I really liked Family Guy, now I don't really care for it, but still love the Simpsons.

It seems Family Guy tries to be more vulgar and confrontational, and I wouldn't really be proud to work there either, but I would love to work on the Simpsons.

tough call. Simpsons is a classic but the latest seasons have been stale. The show's just begging to be cancelled.

Family guy has its hits and misses but has been fresher and funnier than the simpsons lately.

I choose southpark. That show's currently still funny even in its eleventh season.

Regardless of drop in quality or not, The Simpsons will always hold its place as one of the milestones of TV comedy and adult animation. Without it, there´d be no Family Guy, no South Park, no Futurama, etc. I love South Park, but sometimes the episodes can be a bit one-joke. Family Guy is more or less a knock-off that does have its moments but does indeed abuse the non-sequitor flashbacks.
