Sin City vs 300

Both are great IMO, yet i prefer Sin City because i have read 'Gates Of Fire' which is a much better and much more accurate telling of the Battle Of Thermopylae, so i find parts of 300 dissapointing.

Both amazing visually but I'll have to go with Sin City because I love those books and that universe so much. 300, while amazing after the third or fourth go around on DVD you've seen and heard all the story has to offer.

I will say, visually I loved them both. This style that grew out of Sky Captain of the whole thing pretty much being green screened is pretty cool. Imagine the possibilities of doing pretty spectacular looking movies with little in the way of sets, just a huge Linux render farm.

300. That was the best movie i`ve seen in years..

Its just that i like the story for 300 more than Sin City...

Really like them both, but for different reasons.

Sin City

300 was a bit too brainless for my liking.

Now on that one I disagree, 7000.
If anything they had both decent acting. But I'll choose Sin City's moody dialogue over 300's oneliners any day.

Sin City for its originality and great graphical aspect
300 because it's imposing and memorable (this is sparta)
hell it's hard to chose...

I'll give it to Sin City

I thought the one liners, dark humour and of course the unintentional hilarity made the movie work. It mellowed out the brutal action sequences by identifying them as mere human beings despite their awesome strength, skill and determination.

I'll take 300. Sin City was good but 300 made me say "W:wow:W!!!!"

while i think both movies are overrated, i have to go with 300.
