Since we got the SR suit, are we getting the William's theme?

This is a question that I've been asking, and it seems that the producers want to keep everything in check with the studio film. Which, in my opinion, they should be allowed to use the John William's theme score. That would be a good question to ask the producers (for those of you who have them on twitter).

I'd love to hear it. But if theirs legal issues, then I doubt we will hear it. Maybe they can convince WB to let them use the theme, which would be epic.

I wonder what recording of the Love Theme that is, Sawyer? Definitely not the original '78. I do so love that theme, and that whole track, and would probably fall over from (happy) shock if I ever heard it on the show. Alas, much like Williams Superman Fanfare theme, I doubt it will ever (or ever again, in the case of the Fanfare) show up in Smallville. It was great when they've spun those classic leitmotifs into the show in the past, but they got their hands slapped and obviously went about creating a new hero theme. Speaking of... I didn't expect this, but that theme has really grown on me, especially since hearing it stated so well in Salvation.

I'm kind of bummed we likely won't hear any Williams material in the show again (the Krypton theme worked so well!), but I really appreciate what Louis Febre has done to create a distinct heroic theme for this show's soon-to-be Superman.

what rights issue? isn't smallville and superman both done by WB there should be no rights issue with the Williams superman music in smallville at all.

Well, one excuse could be that there's not yet a reason to have it in full-force. As there's not yet a Superman, there's no need for a fully developed equivalent of the Williams March. Someday, yes, but for now the composer can have fun teasing us and developing a fuller expression of the theme.

That said, I am counting on there being a splendid, heroic, epic statement on the theme... or a few, even.

Since they've come up with their own unique Superman theme, or atleast part of one, I doubt they'll use the Williams theme again.
