The Dark Knight Singapore’s Ng Chin Han lands major role in TDK

They didn't go half way around the world looking for him. He was the one who pursued the part, he was in the US and went to the auditions and just like Eric Roberts it took some time before he actually got the part. A lot of foreign actors and actresses (from this country too) do that. There's no laws against it and if they are casting a role that requires an asian why not get someone who's actually born and raised in Asia.

Chan also had a supporting role in 3 Needles with Lucy Liu, Stockard Channing, Shawn Ashmore and Chloe Sevgny. So this isn't his first overseas movie.:cwink:

BTW theres a video on the site where he goes into more detail about TDK.
Well, that makes better sense. I couldn't fathom why someone would trek halfway across the globe to get a relatively unknown actor to play a small role. Doesn't make any financial sense.

But if he was in town and pursued the part, then that makes sense.

I guess they finally cast the asian accountant!
i'm thinking of that.

also he's Singaporean, should be a quick hop to Hong Kong if that's where they're shooting his scene.

It's ridiculous how much second-guessing is going on here. As someone pointed out, it's just probably a "major-role" for him and not in the context of the movie. You guys are making a big deal over every little thing.

And as far as the question of cost goes---I'm betting an actor from Singapore comes a hell of a lot cheaper than an actor from the United States.

probably true. as long as he puts in a good performance. it's just fun to speculate at what the role is.

Man, I seriously hope he doesn't have a Singaporean accent. Then again, maybe the character does.

Anybody who knows somebody from Singapore knows what I'm talking about. It's a wierd cross between what you'd expect from the stereotyped Chinese accent, mixed with an English accent, mixed with a stereotyped Indian accent.

Man,i'm trying to remember what i have seen him in
