^ Agreed, we all would love to see Doc Ock, but lets look at the evidence:
- We all know that the Goblin is the big baddie behind everything. Everything is leading up to him.
- Lizard is locked away in Ravencroft.
- Electro will be the big baddie in TASM2, and Jamie Fox has aluded that 'electricity never goes away', or something like that, effectively saying we may see Electro again.
- Oscorp seems to be behind everything in this universe. It was behind the Lizard. It was behind whatever happened to Mary and Richard Parker, which we have to expect will be shown in TASM2 and maybe 3 or 4. It will be behind Electro getting his powers too. And it will be behind the Goblin, and likely other villains as well.
- If my Sinister Six idea plays out then the six will be brought together by someone with the resources to do so. Right now Oscorp/Osborn is the only one with those resources.
- Rhino will have a smallish part in TASM2, so he will be back.
- We have the teaser of the Sinister Six set pic
- We know that the the actress who we expect will be the Black Cat stated that she "is somehwat on the baddies side". Sure sounds like a hired thief that will join th good side later.
- We know that Gwen will die at some point and I've been arguing that it will be at the end of TASM2. Lots of evidence supports this. If true then Goblin will be shown at the end of TASM2.
So, there are two ways to do the Sinister Six.
The first would be to have the Green Goblin form the team during TASM2 and 3. This sets the S6, or at least part of them, to be the main villains in #3, and the Goblin (who would be the leader) in #4. Doesn't mean that Doc Ock couldn't be one of the Six, but not likely as the leader.
The second option is that the Goblin will be taken down in TASM3, leaving TASM4 for the Sinister Six. If this is the route they go then a Doc Ock led group would be possible. He could simply be an Oscorp Engineer developing military, chemical, whatever stuff for Osborn. Kind of an inner mad scietist guy. He could even have a living, thinking material that adapts to the host it joins with (black suit Spidey anyone?).
The fact that they added the 4th movie supports both of these options.
One thing is for certain though, with Six bad guys not all of them can be focused on, even if done over two movies. The best way to handle this is to have one or two of the Six switch sides, or at least take one of the other Six out before slinking off. For example, if the Lizard was forced by Goblin to work for him (threaten his family, threaten Peter, be bribed with power, etc.) he could be considered part of the Six and then come to his senses, take another of the Six out and escape. Two down. At the same time Black Cat could do the same. If she was a hired thief she could be considered part of the Six, could take out a bully like Rhino before joining Spidey. Again, a great way to take out 2 of the Six.
Anyway, as much as we would love to see Doc Ock as the leader of the Sinister Six, and although that is a possibility, it seems like this series is a block of 4 movies, and it's going to take Peter a full movie or 2 to get "over" Gwen so he can move on. After Gwen is killed by Goblin (it better be him) he will be hated by the general audience and he will be the one that Peter needs to seek revenge on. That means him being the final bad guy in TASM4 just makes more sense. And if that's the case Doc Ock is unlikely and almost definitely not the leader!
