Skyforge offers players a merging tool for pantheons with its next update

March 15, 2016 4 Comments

When you have contests between various guilds, it’s going to be harder to maintain your existence as a smaller guild. Skyforge‘s pantheon conflicts have made smaller pantheons a bit less attractive, but the game’s next patch is addressing that.

You don’t need to watch your members slowly bleed away from your group while losing everything you worked toward; instead, you can merge with another pantheon and create one larger group from the remnants of the old.

Much like a corporate merger, one pantheon essentially “takes over” the other one, with the “destroyed” pantheon having its holdings converted to resources for the newly merged group. The deal does have a slightly bigger benefit for the pantheon that absorbs the smaller group, but it will allow a sudden influx of resources that wouldn’t be possible if the smaller group was just disbanded. Check out the full announcement for more of the fine details.

Skyforge’s next update will make finding adventures a snap

April 10, 2016 5 Comments

Good news, everyone! Skyforge’s next big update, Reaper’s Revenge, is only days away from release. Allods Team announced this week that the content patch is scheduled for April 20th and will contain many improvements and expansions to the game’s core systems.
The headlining feature of Reaper’s Revenge is an overhauled adventure search interface that will allow players to quickly scan through level-appropriate activities and allow them to easily group up if needed. The team said that players will no longer have to grind prestige to unlock higher difficulty levels, but that those levels would become available once the previous modes had been conquered.
Also coming with the update are further ways to grow a character’s stats, mount upgrades, and D-series distortions. Players will even be able to queue up for a new “rapid response squad” activity with two fellow deities.

Skyforge : Four New Vectors Coming in Reapers' Revenge

Posted Apr 12, 2016

The Skyforge team is giving players another sneak peek into the contents of the Reapers' Revenge update with today's article about new vectors.
Vectors will enhance any one of several statistics (strength, luck, valor and spirit) as well as provide an increase to Prestige and Stamina.
These vectors will not appear in every player’s atlas immediately after installing the update. You will be required to rip these valuable tools from the hands, feet, claws, or vines of the deadly foes within the Distortions directly. But don’t fret! Vectors can be obtained by conquering a Distortion just a single time. As many players should know, each Distortion series consists of 4 adventures, inhabited by monsters from one army: A-Series, Oceanids, B-Series, Phytonides, C-Series, Mechanoids. In addition, the game’s first D-Series Distortion, host to the Reapers of Death, will appear in Reapers' Revenge.
The article goes into more detail about the forthcoming vector alterations, so head on over to the Skyforge site to learn more.[FONT=arial !important]

Skyforge offers overview of Reapers’ Revenge D-1 Distortion

April 19, 2016 2 Comments

When Skyforge’s delayed Reaper’s Revenge patch releases next week, players will get to experience their first D-series tier of Distortions, those Pantheon-specific encounters that are billed as some of the most difficult content the game has to offer.

And so players don’t stumble into the encounter blindly, Allods Team is offering an overview of D-1.

In a nutshell, it’s a family affair. The first boss to face is Shakurm, the ruler of a Vird tribe. His attacks should be easily avoidable — at least until players enrage him.

After defeating him, players will have to deal with the ruler’s progeny, who all want to overthrow him. Sons Ursag and Ruga possess the same basic attacks as Pops, with some added pools of confusion-inducing rot tossed around the arena. After those two are dispatched come the grandkids: Ching, Getush, Kushar, and Tar.

With them, players need to watch out for and manage summoned swarms of normal Virds, whose whole job is to heal whatever health players are whittling away.

Skyforge introduces a floating robot companion for everyone

May 27, 2016 2 Comments

Your journey through the world of Skyforge could not be in any way called devoid of robots. It would be difficult to even say that the game is rocking insufficient robots. There are lots of robots in the game all over the place.

But you’re also pretty much always smashing the heck out of them, and you certainly don’t have a sassy robot companion following you around all the time. The designers have recognized this oversight, and thus you can look forward to the imminent introduction of the Autonomous Robot Companion, or ARC for short.

ARC provides all player characters an extra source of damage in combat, complete with customization options for players to design their ideal robot buddies. In the future, there will be more options to use different sorts of robot companions to provide similar functions, but even the most basic model should be useful. We can’t tell you exactly when you’ll be getting your little floating robot buddy, but it’s enough to know that you will get a robot buddy.

You can now adopt a cybernetic companion in Skyforge

June 2, 2016 5 Comments

Everyone needs a floating robotic companion in their lives, yes? Skyforge thinks so, at least, which is why it’s giving all players the opportunity to enslave a little cybernetic pet for a lifetime of glorious service.
The Cybernetic Alliance patch this week unlocks the ARC companion for players. This pet can not only be visually customized but upgraded to loot items; it can even revive its master’s corpse. There’s a promotion going on through June 15th for players to snag a special visual model for the ARC bot, although it’ll take a little work. The patch also includes some class rebalancing and new D2 distortions.
You can get pumped up for the update by watching the amusing trailer after the jump. Is this video trying to tell us that we’re all couch potatoes?

Skyforge patches in the Battle of Equals on July 20th

July 19, 2016 19 Comments

If you were planning on playing Skyforge tomorrow morning at 4:00 a.m. EDT, you have a slightly odd schedule. You also won’t be able to, as the game is going down for maintenance to apply the Battle of Equals patch. And what does the patch contain? Why, that’s what the patch notes reveal! Sure, one of its major features is the eponymous Battle of Equals (a 3v3 arena PvP mode), but there’s more to explore just the same.

Players can trek through the Antean Wasteland for new challenges and rewards, or they can take advantage of the new Reliquary levels and the new Hard modes for adventures. Several PvE encounters have been adjusted, and there are the usual assortment of bug fixes, performance tweaks, and quality-of-life improvements. You’ll have to wait until tomorrow’s maintenance ends before exploring all of the improvements, but at least you’ll not want for stuff to do afterwards.

Over the next several weeks, players will be duking it out in "normalized" 3v3 matches putting players on equal footing during the fight. Transportation, Divine Form, and Symbols cannot be used, only current equipment, talents and skills.
For non-PvPers, the Antean Wasteland is now part of the game that is home to fearsome creatures, deadly weather conditions and more.

Skyforge video explores the upcoming Divine Specialization system

July 27, 2016 4 Comments

One of the key features of Skyforge’s Journey of the Divine update is Divine Specializations — that is, “unique extensions of a God’s abilities that empower them through different means ranging from battling other

Immortals to managing their Order.” It’s basically a spec system relating to one of six gods: the gods of War, Defense, Knowledge, Hunt, Travels, and Authority. For example, hewing to the God of Knowledge unlocks a node tree that includes a jewelry and scroll crafting skill set, whereas the God of Hunt grants increased damage, particularly when soloing.

Skyforge outlines the fight against Melegh in the D3 Distortion

July 29, 2016 Leave a comment

The Reapers serve as low-level punching bags in Skyforge, but they’re also capable of being higher-order threats as well. In the game’s next major patch, players will be pitted against Melegh, one of the high-ranking Reapers and a deity in his own right. But you can’t just hop into the D3 Distortion and expect to pound on Melegh until he drops; there’s a much more ornate strategy that you’ll have to follow, starting by turning your swords on your allies.

Melegh moves back and forth between two phases of battle. In one phase, he separates player bodies and spirits, forcing players to attack the mindless bodies to keep their allies in the fight and weaken the boss. Once he’s accumulated enough Rage from these defeated bodies, he’ll discard his scythe and give players a chance to engage him in Divine form, thus opening himself up to damage. Read up on the particulars if you’re looking forward to the fight when the next patch goes live.

Skyforge preps the Inghar Test Area for its next update

August 15, 2016 i 2 Comments

http://massivelyop.com/tag/skyforge
Skyforge is not short on challenges for its deities-in-training — but more is always better, right? With its next release, Relentless Onslaught, the sci-fi title will be introducing a new area tailored for brutal small-group content.

Five-player teams will be able to venture into the Inghar Test Area once the patch arrives. This area throws waves of enemies from various invasions at the team, with each tougher than the last. As if that’s not enough, each stage is timed and has specific objectives. If the team fails, it gets the boot and any rewards earned up to that point. The area also has a special mode for teams made up of players from the same pantheon.

“The further you go, the more impressive the rewards,” the devs teased. “Equipment items, credits, sparks and lots more await those strong enough to take them! However, those reaching the top of the ratings in the Inghar Test Area will receive the most rewards.”

Skyforge’s Ascension expansion promotes casual-friendly changes, new map, Outlaw class

August 30, 2016 14 Comments

Allods Team and My.com have announced a “massive” new expansion for Skyforge due out this fall. Called Ascension, the update includes a badass new class for 1M prestige players called the Outlaw (he’s the dude dual-wielding pistols above) and a new “extended game campaign” called the Regions map.
“Each mark on the map is an entry point to an adventure or mission that will improve character stats. Temples and Strongholds will replace atlases. All the familiar interface screens, such as Equipment, Symbols, and Orders will also be located here. The amount of resources required for development will also be significantly reduced and now your actions are the main currency! Do you want to obtain a new symbol? Select the relevant mission on the Regions Map. Do you thirst for a new class? There will be a mission just for you!”
Invasions, meanwhile, will stretch from two to eight weeks in duration with a new invasion boss on the warm-up deck; expect also an “improved battle system” with dodging — sorry, dashes — tweaks to currencies, and a new political system called the council of gods.

Here’s how Skyforge’s Ascension is rewriting character development

September 2, 2016 16 Comments

Skyforge’s Ascension expansion isn’t just another content drop — it’s virtual rewrite of the way characters are built and played in a way that is distinctly casual-friendly. Today’s team dev blog explains how the character development system is being redesigned to reduce unnecessary complexity and reduce build screw-ups, from merging Ascension Atlas stats to replacing Sparks and Spark Replicators. Even class unlocking is different now: Players will have to travel to its temple first.
“The unlocked class has a limited amount of predefined starter skills, which still allow you to go into battle. To obtain new abilities, you must complete the quests issued in the class temple. Usually, they will be linked to defeating enemies with that specific class. Characters can only have a quest from one class temple active at a time but as soon as it has been completed, a new one can be started either in the same temple or in any other that is available to you. As the class temple is developed, you will get access to new Talents and Skills. First you will develop the class by exploring basic skills, which will be active amid any selected set, the latest of which is the Ultimate ability.”
If you’re a former Skyforge player tempted by the changes, definitely give the whole piece a read!

Skyforge demos Ascension’s upcoming campaign progression map

September 9, 2016 Leave a comment

Since announcing the game-rewriting Ascension expansion for Skyforge at the end of August, My.com has been busy explaining everything the update will entail, from the new raid and class to the politics system and the buffed up combat system. Today’s reveal is the new campaign map, described as “an interactive map of Aelion and the interface that will be the key location for character development”:
“All the current systems in the game for progression and development of characters (symbols, ascension atlas, divine specializations) will be represented on the Campaign map. Here players will be able to unlock new classes and explore new skills and symbols which were previously spread across multiple interfaces. The map will let players choose their own rewards on their journey through Skyforge. Progression will now be represented by opening up regions you play through towards your goals – currencies will be a thing of the past.”
There’s a new trailer showing off the campaign map itself below; get busy watching it as you wait for the expansion due out “as soon as this fall.”

Skyforge shows off the Outlaw collector’s edition

September 14, 2016 6 Comments

Is jumping around with two guns all you’ve ever wanted in Skyforge? You’re probably quite happy to get your hands on the Outlaw, but you might not be able to play the class immediately when the patch goes live.

Unless, of course, you purchase the Outlaw collector’s edition from the game’s store, which offers you immediate access to the class as soon as the patch goes live.

Of course, you might not actually need that immediate access, but that’s fine; you’ll also be given a unique Outlaw costume, 10 days of premium account status, 7500 Argents and 100,000 credits to go along with the purchase. This pack will only be available for a limited time, but it’s on sale before the update launches for $35 instead of the normal $45. It’s up to you if automatic two-gun action and all of the other doodads are worth the expense sight unseen.

Skyforge overhauls its invasion mechanics for its next major patch

September 19, 2016 3 Comments

It’s kind of insane how frequently the world of Skyforge is invaded, but since those invasions form a core part of the game’s content, it’s kind of understandable. The next major patch to the game is shaking up the structure of invasions, though; the designers have re-examined the impact of each invasion on the game world and how players interact with the invading force, resulting in invasions that last longer while also giving players more to do.

Invasions will no longer overlap, so an individual invader will be the only invading force for the full duration of eight weeks. The method of repelling a given invasion will also be overhauled somewhat. Distortions can be accessed by all players who unlock their divine forms, even those without a guild, although the content will still require a high level of coordination and gear to defeat. It’s going to be a big set of changes for players accustomed to the current state of invasions, but it should make the invasions that happen that much more fun for players.

Skyforge’s newest raid boss is so powerful that it obliterates the battle arena

September 21, 2016 3 Comments

Described as “devastating” and “unpredictable,” Tol-Monter is ready to tag into Skyforge as the game’s newest raid boss. This happy fellow is the leader of the Oceanid army, which means that participants are going to be getting a glimpse into the darkest terrors ever to come from the depths of the sea.

When it arrives in Skyforge, Tol-Monter’s champion form will be the single toughest boss fight in the game, requiring players to plow through several phases, each with unique challenges. If a raid team can get to the end, it will need to move quickly: “This powerful creature will not stop for anything in an effort to fulfill the will of the Great God. Remember, time is against you, Tol-Monter’s attacks are so strong that they gradually destroy the arena in which the battle takes place.”

You can get a glimpse of the new raid in a video after the jump.

Skyforge’s new equipment system means less bag management and fewer extra resources

September 23, 2016 3 Comments

If you’re one of the few people who really enjoy messing around with bag space, Skyforge‘s revamped equipment system will strike you as a notable downgrade. For everyone else, it’s meant as an upgrade. It’s a pretty drastic shift for the game, however, with a change in how many equipment slots are available to a change in the basics of how equipment works.

No longer will equipment directly affect your stats; instead, it’ll have different secondary effects so that everything other than weapons should be relevant for every class instead of just a few.

Other equipment will all boost two stats out of a possible four (health, damage, critical, and impulse damage), so while certain items may be more useful for specific roles, there’s always some advantage to having something on. Equipment upgrading has also been changed drastically, replaced with the Cathedral building that directly affects Might rather than individual items. It’s going to take some time for players familiar with the extant system to adjust, so you may want to read carefully about what will happen to your existing equipment and inventory when the next patch goes live.

Slay your enemies with their own limbs when Skyforge’s Ascension patch drops October 19

September 27, 2016 5 Comments

Don’t call it an NGE, but when Skyforge’s Ascension patch is live next month, it’s bringing sweeping, casual-friendly change to the game.

We’ve previously covered My.com’s plans for the game’s equipment system, new boss, invasion mechanics, MOBA-like PvP mode, order system, campaign progression map, and character development. An Outlaw-themed collector’s edition will also grant players access to that new class when the patch is live. Calling it massive is no exaggeration.

And as of today, we know exactly when that expansion will land: October 19th. In fact, the pre-patch is expected to go live on October 5th. A dev blog out today details the studio’s strategy for making Skyforge’s combat more dynamic.

The studio says it’s adjusting class skills to add “intensity” and is updating monster AI, but the big news is a bit more grisly: body parts as weapons!

Skyforge simplifies Pantheons, pushes the Outlaw live

October 10, 2016 8 Comments

http://massivelyop.com/tag/skyforge
Skyforge’s simplification with Ascension continues. First it was operations, then currencies. Next up is Pantheons, which have gotten a once-over to both simplify them and to provide more benefits and boosts to commanders and regular players alike. The size of the bonus will depend on the Pantheon rank.

What kind of bonus? For one, a top ranking Pantheon will add 10% to the damage and health points of each of its members.

As for simplification, Pantheons only have one stat now: rank. Players don’t have to spend any time managing the Pantheon Stronghold, collecting extra resources, distributing energy, or working with obelisks anymore. Instead, as a Pantheon’s rank increases, its capacity, access to the academy, and participation in Pantheon tournaments are unlocked. Pantheons can also establish a coat-of-arms and increase standing stat bonuses.

To rank up a Pantheon, members will gather construction resources by completing Directives and by participating in competitive activities, then be able to vote on the upgrade once enough is accumulated for each rank.
