    Happy Thanksgiving, Guest!

Skyline

Little bit of trivia, this flick was made for 20 million bones. FX house called Hydralux did the work for cheap because they said they could make CG just as good as the larger houses without that much cost, according to a couple interviews. So this thing could still make a profit if it stays in theatres for a few weeks.

no such thing as free lol.... that just means they get a nice chunk of the boxoffice lol

After I saw the trailer I knew this movie was a must see for me. Anything to do with giant monster aliens is a must see for me.

I will say that some of the footage from the trailer looks interesting, but in the end, this movie just seems like too much. I have a feeling it'll be like "2012" special effects looked awesome, but in the end, I just couldn't wait to get out of the movie, just too much going on.

I've just seen some TV spots for this thing. How the f*** have I not heard or seen anything about this before?! It looks like if Independence Day had sex with Transformers, had babies, sold them to fanboys who then chopped them up and sold their organs to Universal. I'll keep an interest for it, but I agree, it could very well be too much.

The very first time I saw the trailer, I thought it was a sequel to Independence Day. I was happy at first, then I looked it up, and was saddened.

If that's legit than I wouldn't be shocked since the Brothers are awful.

Effects look great, but the characters just seem like such insufferable A-holes. Something about the combination of the setting (a swanky-looking LA penthouse), Eric Balfour (sorry, can't stand him) and Donald Faison's tracksuit just add up to what looks like "Giant Aliens Attack an Episode of Cribs".

That's the bulk of the reason it was so cheap to shoot. They shot it in Cali.

Caught a screening of this earlier this evening.

It's got a few nice little snaps and jumps, but seems to wear its predictability on its sleeve, and has more than a few laugh-out-loud moments that I'm not sure were intentional (I can't quite figure out if these guys were intentionally sending up the genre or not) ...but once it settles into the middle act, it's almost like a great 50s Sci-Fi B-movie.

Top-notch SyFy-quality roles and acting, but the mecha-organic aliens look great for the budget, and once they appear, there's a new variation on their species every few minutes...

Plus, none of the typical, expected "news reporting" you so often get in these types of films...that option is explained away quickly and nicely.

It's got a decent "I didn't quite think they'd go there" ending as well...(which seems to purposely beg for a sequel)

The YouTube clip above is from the last ten or so minutes of the movie...most of the film takes place completely inside one apartment building.

Worth a matinee to catch it on the big screen, if you're a fan of the genre, but don't pay full price.

I don't think so.

My friend just texted me. He said it's one of the worst movies he's seen. more to come!

and he's not the type to be hyperbolic.

My pops wants to check it out tomorrow, so we may go see it at the local five dollar theatre or something. I ain't paying 10 bucks at AMC for this.

Giant space monsters....killing people you want to see get killed.....sounds like a win win situation.

LOL... hell, I wouldn't pay five dollars to see it. I will simply wait for it to come out on Direct TV... since I'm already paying for that.

This movie looks kind of cool from the previews, I might go see it. I always enjoy a good alien invasion film.
