Skyline

These guys will turn into the new Uwe Boll, except not as entertaining.

Why is Turk in this film? He could have been in something else better. Then again a paycheck is a paycheck for a cheesy film like this.

The thing is that I'm sure the pay isn't that great since it's so low budget.

Really? How much did it cost? It sure as hell LOOKS pricey as hell going by the effects.

After reading some spoilers, I really wish I would have stepped in on the last few minutes of the film after Unstoppable.

Sounds really badass.

Ha ha, my friend just told just now that this is probably his 'Crap movie of the year'.

A good friend has just got back from the 4:15 mantinee, and said it is what it is. Mildly entertaining. If you go into it expecting an Acadamy Award Winning flick; than yes, you will be disappointed. He knew from the reviews that it was cheese with sub-par acting and story; but just wanted to see it. He did say he had no grand expectations. Just wanted to see the latest alien invasion film. Hell, now I'm interested in the cheese. What harm can it be.... other than blowing $6.50 and 110 minutes of my life? :O

I actually hold, cheap, cheesy badly acted movies in very high regard. Most of the true fun I've had watching movies has been sittin down with my mates over a few beers, munchies & just watching cheap horror. It's fun because you can laugh at it & actually enjoy yourself. your not focusing on a big story that you have to wrap your head around. Anyone who's seen Corey Feldman in Puppet Master VS Demonic Toys knows what i'm talking about. I dunno, it's just become a real tradition for me & my mates & it's probably one of the rare times I actually enjoy a movie so much that I get sad when it's over. I really look forward to this cheap, nasty, cheesefest of a movie.

So many people on here (and everywhere on the net for that matter) really need to watch some old B sci fi movies. This was a B sci fi movie with better special effects than the old ones.

Did it have big name stars....no.
Did it have Oscar winning writing.....no.
Did it have award winning acting.....no.
Did it have cool looking FX with giant alien mosters killing millions of people....yes.

I grew up watching old B sci fi movies with aliens attacking and the hero figuring out in the last 5 minutes that WD-40 sprayed on a peanut butter sandwhich and thrown in the air will make the aliens run off and leave us alone. This was one of those movies without the WD-40 and peanut butter sandwhich.

Was there lapses in logic and reasoning...sure, but were you really expecting it not to? were some of you really expecting this to be a combo of Shakespeare, Ang Lee, and Ingmar Bergman? I looked at the trailer and said, this will be a couple hours of goofy fun and action that will take me away from worrying about paying the bills and getting my car fixed....and that's what it did.

I was going to see this but opted to see Unstoppable instead; wise choice. Can't find the damn thread for it though.....

with that kinda budget this movie will bank.... and this crappy pair of directors will continue to believe this was piranha 3d material not the complete crap that it is

I couldnt agree more with you:yay:.You nailed it:awesome:.

I thought it was entertaining.
It was what it was. I liked the motives of the aliens, I liked the concept, I liked the fact there were no "force fields".

It was not a "big scale" movie, being confined to mostly to 1 room, but for what it was it made good and passed the time for me. Some people are to critical of movies and expect too much.

Holy crap, this was made for $20 million? That CG looks pretty great for a budget like that.

Me and the old man saw this yesterday afternoon. He liked some parts, but at the end when the credits started, he said, and I am directly quoting, "what in the hell was that?"

:hehe:
