Smackdown vs Raw 2009

Had a headache and couldn't sleep and came across an article for Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 for anyone interested.

I noticed Jericho's already in it, but the biggest things I took out of the article is finally their adding a create a finisher feature, and the upgrade of tag team play.

The article said that it will let you string up to 10 animations in your create a finisher. So your finisher could go, Low blow, taunt, Pedigree, RKO, and 6 superkicks in a row. Now obviously your going to see some stupid finishers playing online, but this has a ton of potential.

The other point was the upgrade to tag team play. You can make those emergency barely made it tags, blind tags, distract the ref with one player while the other gets a chair and uses it, and also tag team finishing maneuvers.

SD vs. Raw 2008 was a dissapointment to me. If they can finally fix some of those bugs, and add in custom music this looks like it could be the best SD vs. Raw in a long while.

I saw that "Create a Finisher" add on and shat myself. I'm real excited to see that. I missed '08, so I'm definitely picking this up. I read that the DS version is going to be more traditional to old SD games as far as the controls go, with hitting buttons to initiate grapples instead of using the stylus. I might have to buy two versions

The tag aspect is looking real nice. The hot tags that shift momentum are going to be a plus to see, I hope they got some real nice animations for it.

AND!... Finally you can play season mode with two people. I've been waiting for this since Just Bring It.

Not a big Co-op fan or of create a finisher. The best thing is probably finally we get downloadble content.

They've been saying create a move for such a long time. When I see a video of it I'll believe it.

I want create a finisher just so I can re-create the movie I used for my finisher in Wrestlemania 2000 back in the day. It's like you're going to get powerbombed, but you slide off the guys shoulders, grabbing his head on the way down, and turn it into a ddt.

I dont know...I know it was in Wrestlemania 2000, then I get No Mercy, and it's gone, and I've never seen it since.

I think this game will be something special. It sounds good on paper, but I think it'll be pretty awesome. I want to watch one of those "Evolution of..." videos for this game now

I hope that:

1) They change the CAW option so all the wrestlers you create look similar
2) Make sure the create a finisher option is as smooth as the tony hawks create-a-trick options if not better
3) Import videos for create an entrance mode

Oh and i want the gameplay to rock and not have repeating commentary over...and over...god i wanna kill J.R and King for that whole "Government Mule" thing they had in Smackdown 07.

I haven't played 08 yet but my main concern is the story mode every year it's not as good as previous installments.The best story for me was in i believe the fourth smackdown{I believe it was shut your mouth.}But those features sound cool.

08's story mode is awful. I dont even play it anymore. Its that bad. Here comes the pain had by far the best story mode. This Gm/24/7 crap has to go.

The 08 story mode doesnt even make sense...it's all jumbled up nonsense. It shows you in the back hanging out with the people you're feuding with, the choices dont register correctly...it's terrible.

Well then I won't be buying then.I just got a PS3 with DMC 4.I was looking for other games to by.Now this isn't the list anymore.

Man, I'm getting fed up with this. The main thing they need to change on this series is online play. I just tried to play 2008 again, the match is going great, really fun. It was a no CAW match (usually I go with Jericho or my Samoa Joe CAW), and I was Orton. My partner is outside the ring fighting Taker, and I'm fighting Rey inside the ring. Rey's got the slight upper hand, the ref's down, then I use my low blow special. I go to chair shot, he reverses, he then hits me with the chair. He goes to pick me up (my special was ready), and bam I RKO him. It was just an awesome set up, and 1, 2, 3.....Rey disconnects on us. The screen glitches and hovers at us standing around listening to Cole.

They NEED to fix this stupid disconnection crap. 9/10 matches I win anymore end with someone disconnecting on me.

IMO make it when someone DC's their char stays in the match unable to fight back, and the match continue. Also, clean up the stupid Online menu, 3 day old matches still showing as still there and joinable.

Online play is addicting. But i have it for 360. I suggest you rent it and check it out then make a decision.

This is the main problem I had with online play. After about 3 days of playing against cheaters 9 out of 10 times, I decided not to play anymore.

"cheaters" its not like theyre using cheat codes and if they quit early they get the loss, i get the win.

Ya, but to me it's not about a win loss ratio, it's about playing the game. If I'm having an awesome match, let's say a fatal 4 way ladder match, and one *****e dc's....that means all 3 of us lose out on the rest of the match. Sometimes it shows up as a draw as well. If someone dc's after the 3rd count before the win, it locks the game up. Basically it wastes everyones time. Considering you have to wade thru 3 day old games that are no longer up and running just to find a current one, then wait for it to fill up, it ticks me off when 3 mins into the game someone getting a beatdown leaves on you, it's just a collosal waste of time.

Not to count the connections only as good as the worst connection in game. If you have a broadband connection, but your opponent has a 56k one, the match is going to be equally choppy for both, even if you host.

IMO even at harder settings the comp is too easy and predictable. Online play is where I have fun. I just want to play a full match without a win/loss hog ruining it.

That's the **** I'm talking about.

Heck, I remember clearly if someone disconnected just after the three, it still didn't save the score.

Instead of yearly, they need to release it once ever two years. Have DLC roster updates until Wrestlemania, the year of the next ones release, which would give even more incentive to buy the new one, as no more updates. And then they would have enough time to actually put some polish on the damn things.
