Well,

I got my first speeding ticket this morning since I was 16, its going to cost me $336.00 for going 52 in a 35 school zone. :cmad: I admit that I did wrong and must be sent to Snake Mountain for punishment by Kobra Kahn.

Seriously I tried to be nice to the officer and was hoping to get off without a ticket, or get sent to to the sexy prison movie shows like in the 80s like chained heat :woot: .

Guess I will pay my ticket now, lets all talk about what I could have done and mourn my 11 year streak ending.

hmmm... this sounds familiar... didn't another Hypester get a speeding ticket a while back... no one had much sympathy for them either.

You could fight the ticket in court if you have the time... but suck it up, pay it and don't do it again would probably be smarter (as long as you aren't losing any points off your license)

Most officers decide if they're going to issue a citation before they even walk up to the vehicle. Unless you look like Kristanna Loken in T3, the best thing you could do would be to say "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention" and hope he/she lets you go with a warning.

NEVER just pay the fine...always go to court and request of the judge to eliminate the points. Depending on your driving record, they'll almost always eliminate the points and reduce your fine to court costs (maybe a little more).

Oh, and don't believe the BS myth about the officers having to be present. When we issue citations, we put a summary statement on the back of the ticket that the judge has listing everything that happens during the stop; probable cause, method of determining speed, attitude of the driver, environmental conditions, etc. It's a sworn statement and admissable without being present. :cwink:

Or you can fight the ticket and at least plead down to a lesser offense so you won't get any points on your license or have your insurance go up.

Insurance companies understand many people fight to have points reduced or eliminated so they go by the number and type of violations when considering their rate increases, not just the points. The points are almost an afterthought until they get up to the range required for suspension.

Unless he gets the ticket expunged, this young man is screwed.

Never speed in a school zone. That is the worst place to speed. That and construction zones.

I had a couple of tickets pleaded down to whatever the flavor of the day was (Obstructing Traffic). Paid the fine, no points on my license and my insurance didn't go up.

Not my local police, they're so worthless and bored they nab anyone they can for any reason.

Heh.

I was doing an inspection of a job and school bus was stopped and this car went around him. Since it was a busy street, there was a cop on duty to watch traffic. He stepped out in front of the car going around a "stopped" bus, in a construction zone. He read him the riot act and I'm sure his ticket was astronomical.

I got pulled over going to work about a year ago doing 80 in a 65 while passing people on the right....I was let off.

I recently got pulled over for going through a stop sign and didn't have my insurance papers on me...I was let off.

This is how I got off...Turn off the radio and make sure you have your seat belt on (doesn't hurt) The when the cop comes over and asks you "Liscense and registration and insurance please (some states have them seperate)...Now pay attention to this when he asks you for these..say this.

"My licsense is in my wallet, and my registration is my my glove box, is it ok if I reach for them?

They say "yes,go ahead"

Be nice and honest,Don't say I'm late for work cause they will ask "Where's work"? You'd better be late for work cause if you stop and think, your caught lying. Here's your ticket.

Whne you reaching for the wallet, and opening your glove box or looking around your car for this info...that actually scares the living daylights out of them...

I have 2 of these in my wallet.

2007 of course.

One for Jersey. One for NY.

Unless I'm running over pedestrians, they get you out of trouble.

I didn't mean to imply that's all they look at...I'm sure other factors go in as well; years you've been driving, overall record, etc.

First of all,

ROTFLMAO!!! :woot: ....Not at your misfortune because I really feel for you, but all of those aweful(ly good) punishments!!

There are few cops that'll cut a deal in a school zone anymore. You're more likely to get a stollen car back in the west side of St. Louis! :(

There's nothing you could have done differently short of using the flux capasitor to go back in time and have a hot busty blonde waiting in your car for you in the present.

....And it was Chained Heat 2 that was the good one. I never saw the original! :down :(

Was that the Georgia State Police, the Highway Patrol, or the local authorities? There's a difference in the peak of the cowl!
