So, I watched The original Omen yesterday, and...

I really enjoyed it, but I found myself sympathising with Damien. Which is strange, because he's, you know, EVIL. Its weird. But Harvey Stephens definatley beats out the new Damien for the fact that its more suprising that he is the antichrist. Not blindingly obvious.

At the time, Damien genuinally didn't truly know it. Up until atleast midway into The Omen 2 it's rather understandable to feel sympathy for him.

I like this film, being a horror film fan and all. The Exorcist easily excels it, but I enjoy The Omen for what it has to offer. A damn scary flick. Its storyline is genuinely creepy, and its characters well-developed. My favorite scene in the movie is a very popular one, Damien pushing Kathy over the stair-railing with his tricycle. I also savor the hell out of her death.

Overall, a substantial horror movie, and a damn sight better than that atrocity of a shot-for-shot remake.

If you watch any other Of the Omen Films defintaly watch Omen 3. Omen 2 was ok and all but Sam Neil was great in Omen 3.

The Omen didn't scare but it definitly creeped me out. The kid was creepy as f--k.

I sympathized with Dmaien a little bit, but I just couldn't help feeling hate for him. I wasn't a huge fan of the remake and it didn't have as big as an affect on me as the original, but it's there as well.

I only watched the remake, i didn't find much affection for damien is he more simpathetic in the original?

According to the behind-the-scenes on the DVD, the reason Damien smiles at the camera at the end of the film was because Harvey Stephens had the giggles and they couldn't get him to stop laughing. And yet, it's one of the creepiest shots in the film.
