The I Hate "Two and a Half Men" show thread...

I recently saw a commercial for Two and a Half Men. It showed that annoying ass kid and Charlie Sheen watching some horror movie. The kid thought it was boring and Charlie responded that it was a classic. The kid said "You know what's really a classic? Snakes on a Plane." and proceeded to annoy the s*** out of me even further by yelling out "Snake!" and shove his fist into peoples faces.

That annoyed me a little, but I moved on.

And then the words "The #1 Most Watched Sitcom on television" flashed across the screen.

WHAT?!?! This is the #1 most watched sitcom?! Over The Office, Scrubs, My Name is Earl and 30 Rock, this is the most watched sitcom on TV? The show that just made a joke about Snakes on a Plane being a classic?

Honestly, its not even about that, its about the fact that the show isnt even funny anymore, and CBS is basically the network for the elderly. How it is #1, i'll never know.

I've watched a few episodes here and there now that it's in syndication and don't see the appeal of the show other than nostaglia for totally predictable comedies of the '80s and '90s.

It's a family show, where Office, Scrubs, 30 Rock and My Name is Earl are not.
I like the show, I only watch it in syndication. But I grew up watching Charlie, Emilio and their Dad Martin so that maybe why I'm so hooked.

I don't watch the show...but I saw the commercial....and you seem to be missing a point here. It is a comedy program where a dumb kid is arguing that he believes that "Snakes on a Plane" is a classic. The producers and writers and actors weren't saying that SOAP was a classic....a character that from all the commercials I have seen before is portrayed as a dumb kid....is saying that SOAP is a classic.

I don't get why people like it. I was of the mind that this was an show that was somehow just...on. But no, it actually has some kind of fanbase. It's consistantly in the top 20 in the ratings, it's in heavy syndication, I've lately started hearing lots of coworkers at the office talking about it and as if all that weren't enough, during the Emmy's, when Josh Groban sang all of those famous theme songs, the only one he did that's probably too new to be an classic is(you guessed it) 2 1/2 men. WHY???????????

It's biggest crime? IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY.

Someone please let me know i'm not the only one who thinks this way. Remember that old episode of the Simpsons where Homer and Marge are watching tv and they're wathing something called "Don't go there", that's also followed by "Talk to the hand". It's that kinda cookie cutter b.s.!
