CBS has always been known as the "old people" network, either than Rescue 911 because my dad watched it I haven't ever seen any CBS programming.
I'm also scratching my head as to how According To Jim, Everybody Loves Raymond and Murphy Brown lasted so long.
Well this is rare, especially in America; a family show where Charlie Sheen fcks everything that moves.![]()
And the show isn't even in syndication which is why maybe people never talk about it, the only reason MB will be remembered for is the whole Dan Quayle debacle of the wedlock incident.According to Jim was ABC. Everybody Loves Raymond had its moments. I don't think I've ever seen a full episode of Murphy Brown.
I wouldn't call CBS the "old people" network; The Mentalist is a great show, as well as The Big Bang Theory.
Broadcast audience older than ever

Get off the broadcast lawn!
According to the latest Nielsen data, the average audience of the four major broadcasters is older than ever.
In a study released by analyst Steve Sternberg, ABC's median viewership aged one year last season -- to 51. CBS also grew a year, to 55. NBC gained two years, to 49. And Fox stayed the same, a relatively nubile 44.
Compare this to a decade ago. ABC was 43, CBS was 52, NBC was 45 and Fox was only 35.
Only young-female targeted relative newcomer The CW has as median age under 40 -- 33 -- a figure its more or less maintained the past few years.
"Ten years ago, there was still a relatively wide age disparity among the then six broadcast networks," Sternberg noted.
Other points of interest:
-- Comedies tend to be the youngest-skewing shows. In the fall of 1999, there were 45 broadcast sitcoms. Last fall there were just 20.
-- Conversely, procedural dramas are among the oldest-skewing genres. A decade ago, there were only five. Last fall there were 20.
-- The oldest-skewing broadcast shows include: ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" (57), CBS' "The Good Wife" (58) and "NCIS" franchise (57).
-- Among the youngest: Fox's animated comedy block (30-32) and "Glee" (38), NBC's Thursday night comedy block (35-40).
Fox News has oldest cable audience

Who has the most watched news network in all the land?
Fox News!
And who has the oldest audience in all of cable?
Fox News!
Fox News has oldest cable audience in a survey released by analyst Steve Sternberg. Fox News has the oldest audience among fully distributed cable networks. The network's average viewer last season was 65 years old, according to Nielsen. Heck, it's viewers are even older than viewers of Hallmark Channel, Military Channel and Golf Channel.
Perhaps the reason viewers tend to leave Fox News on all day racking up hours of big Nielsen numbers is they can't actually change the channel?
(Ah, Fox News, you know we only kid you because you sort of set yourself up for it).
CNN wasn't far behind, though -- its average audience was 63. MSNBC was a perky 59. CNBC is the young turk at 52.
The youngest fully distributed cable channel? Oxygen. Followed by Bravo and, weirdly, VH1 Classic, then Travel and TLC -- all averaging about 42 years old.
Is this still on?? What is the fat kid, 25 now?
This show blows more than Charlie Sheen's last escort.
Sheen signed for at least two more years and it is still the number 1 rated sitcom.
Community is probably more third favorite sitcom. Of course I don't count the two animated shows Simpsons and South Park and Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO.
This is my favorite sitcom other than Big Bang. How I Met Your Mother on the other hand is just boring.
The sitcoms of the 90's were a million times better than what is on now. Seinfeld, Married with Children, Fraiser, the Simpsons were at their peak in the90's. Thank god Chuck Lorre still keeps the 90's alive.

Curb your Enthusiasm, The Office, 30 Rock, Arrested Development, Flight of the Concords and Scrubs when it was good completely owns Frasier, Married with Children, Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond and all the other overrated 90's sitcoms. Okay Seinfeld was good, but I think Curb is still better. Comedy is better today period. People just can't accept that the "sitcom" has evolved into something that doesn't need a laugh-track to tell you when to laugh.
Wow.......... there are no words.
I don't see what is so good about How I Met Your Mother. I saw a couple of episodes and the only character who is even remotely funny is Barney who is nothing but a extremely watered down version of Charlie Sheens character.
I recently saw a commercial for Two and a Half Men. It showed that annoying ass kid and Charlie Sheen watching some horror movie. The kid thought it was boring and Charlie responded that it was a classic. The kid said "You know what's really a classic? Snakes on a Plane." and proceeded to annoy the s*** out of me even further by yelling out "Snake!" and shove his fist into peoples faces.
That annoyed me a little, but I moved on.
And then the words "The #1 Most Watched Sitcom on television" flashed across the screen.
WHAT?!?! This is the #1 most watched sitcom?! Over The Office, Scrubs, My Name is Earl and 30 Rock, this is the most watched sitcom on TV? The show that just made a joke about Snakes on a Plane being a classic?
Honestly, its not even about that, its about the fact that the show isnt even funny anymore, and CBS is basically the network for the elderly. How it is #1, i'll never know.
to Two and a Half Men.
Two and a Half Men is bad and its fans should feel bad.
