I wrote a treatment for a Spider-Man script a little while back and decided to option it to some guys over at Marvel, once the acquisition was announced (with some adaptations for the MCU). To my credit, I am a published author, but because I don't have a screenwriting agent, my script is considered unsolicited, which makes it virtually impossible to get under anyone's noses at Marvel.

That being said, I decided to just blog the whole thing in pieces to get something of an audience going. The script is in-line with the current state of the MCU, and it's gotten pretty decent response so far. So, if you're interested in checking it out (or just killing time), you can read the first couple of parts here:

If you like it, let me know. And if not, it's all good. I've spent a lot of time on it, so I might as well let people read it, right? I figure some of you over here at SHH might appreciate it :)

Absolutely loved it. I can see it's inspired by the Spectacular Spider-Man show, which is a good thing. I would love if the actual movie would be something like this! Although, I think it was confirmed that Peter would already have the classic Spider-Man suit in his movie and not the homemade one. Anyways, awesome job.

I agree, this was a great script. Left me wanting more and really hyped for SM2017

Thanks for the responses, guys! At the risk of sounding like a self-promoting blogger, I'm planning to post the whole thing in pieces every other day or so. So feel free to check out the rest as I go! haha

I will, mean its something to do until the actual film is released. :D

Very cool. Feel like your intro could use some work though but overall, noice

Good luck with your writing man. I hope to check it out later time.

Dude.. I LOVE IT!! :applaud Reminds me of the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon.

Looking foward to reading the rest.

calamb just had chance to read your little bit. A nice little opening.

I like how the criminals underestimate him. They never really did that in any of the Spider-Man movies. A 5'8 slender build dude in a red/blue spandex costume calling himself "Spider-Man" shouldn't be taken seriously. I dig that approach.

I read parts 1 through 5, and it's awesome! I definitely like it a lot. One criticism, relating to the track team scene: personally I always liked it in the comics when Peter caught himself being too superhuman and intentionally goofed up or acted weak, because he wanted to keep his identity on the down-low.
So him showing off in the race against Flash to that extent seems like a threat to his secret ID... that said, it's not nearly as severe as what they did in TASM.

Can't wait to see more!

That's why I had Peter trip himself at the end. He realizes he's doing too much, so he decides to screw it up on purpose. But I definitely understand your criticism with Flash. I just wanted to do something to make Flash suspicious, for a later part of the story.

Thanks! There's definitely some Spectacular Spiderman influence here (besides the title, anyway). Glad you like it!

Nice! I got some serious Ultimate and Spectacular vibes from it

That was great! It painted a nice picture of the tone straight from the get-go

I feel really anxious about the actual writers of the film... I hope they will find as fitting a tone as you did. Ps. Was that correct grammar what I just wrote? Sounds weird but kinda right

This was great! Can't wait to read the rest when you put it up. Nailing it so far

Oooh, then I'm totally fine with it. I was expecting there wouldn't be any consequences. Awesome stuff!

How many parts you plan to have.

That's a pretty good question. I can't say for certain, as each part contains more of a "scene" rather than a percentage of the script. I have the whole thing written, but as I blog each section, I find myself making edits here and there. If I had to make a guess, I'd say it'll finish at around post #30

But don't quote me on that number.

Ok cool just wanted to see how much more to expect. Need to read part 2 and on at a later time.

After the part I just posted, I'd say it's probably at the film equivalent of around twenty minutes in, give or take.
