So now they're suddenly promising the costume...

The FF2 release date means nothing. There's a better chance the Jacksonville Jaguars win the superbowl next year than there will be an FF2 made.

Exactly! Everybody knows that the Eagles got it locked next season............................................................

Anyway. That release date was just a cover up for the ever growing TrankvsFox debacle. Olivia Pope told them to do it! But does anyone think that a sequel for the most ill advised reboot in years has a chance sitting between Star Wars VIII and Toy Story 4?

Let Fox's PR team continue to pacify the gullible....Meanwhile the real news is that there's a SW7 and Toy Story 4 coming out in 2017.

It must kill Fox that the next Star Wars movie and all of its spinoffs won't be on their watch.

One more reason to support it now that has....

Well maybe not Tranks though unless there's a tell all about how Fox drove him to cocaine and drinking on the set.

Even the most die hard DD fan was not asking for the DD proto costume to be used for 90% of this series. Now I could be wrong and the classic one is intro-ed earlier, but they've marked this as his costume pretty much without question. So I doubt I'm saying too much in expecting a similar situation of "last minute costume-itis" like the new FF film purportedly has.

I know this is from a few days back but I wanted to reply - DD's costume changes throughout the season, with red elements being added throughout. It's not like he'll suddenly end up with the red suit in the last episode out of nowhere.

Plus, for Daredevil it works - it's meant to be dark and gritty. Fantastic Four is fantasy sci-fi featuring a human stretch Armstrong and a guy who turns into a giant rock dude. It's a ridiculous concept in the first place - the idea that the classic costumes are one step too far for that is ridiculous

There are at least four costumes in Daredevil, fyi. That black suit actually has at least a few variations as it evolves into a true superhero costume. One version even brings in some red lines. It looks like it's less "quick, throw in the costume at the end" and more like the Iron Man films (multiple suits leading up to the finale with the more iconic suit).

People complaining about the Daredevil suit is no different than complaining about Spider-Man's wrestling suit in the 2002 film.

Difference is he wore that for one scene. Lasted -what- 15 minutes? Daredevil looks to be wearing it at least 90% of the time. If they said "He wears it through episode 3 before getting the red costume." there'd be no apprehension. At least from me.

So we had reshoots a couple months back. Which probably means there's a little scene tacked on at the end of the film with them wearing the suits, less and less of the cast and crew telling the media "don't expect the comics", and now Miles Teller keeps saying "I wish I could talk about this film".

Not saying the reshoots were significant enough to make this a different movie, but this feels like minimal effort damage control. It'll still probably be 99% the movie they already filmed plus one shot of the costumes. But this does make it apparent that their confidence is in the toilet now that the fanbase spent the better part of a year demanding this fails.

Next right before the movie hits theaters cast members will pull a Dragonball Evolution promising the sequel will be more like the source material. Which is no different than saying, "Endure this movie so we can make a good sequel".

Producers and directors demand a re-shoot when the movie does not test well.

With Doctor Doom all but ruined in the last two movies, and the Johnny Storm, who was well played by Chris Evans, recast as an African American I must admit a tabloid like interest in how low this one can go.

Dictator > CEO > blogger > bitter janitor?

I think it's pretty obvious the studio is not happy with this film. I said early on it would get the Jonah Hex treatment and so far I was right.

I think alot of the studio concerns started right around the time they announced they were pushing back the film to August. That was the time they blocked Trank's twitter feed, and had to do some backtracking with cast interviews.

Miken,

More like, a push back in release, and re-shoot = problems. Bitter fans!

If you don't see many early reviews there will be a reason. The studio will hype it and it will bomb after the word gets out.

Don't expect the comic book is code for we are going to rip off the fans!

More like don't expect a good movie.

That was more in response to how Doom gets demoted every time he's adapted on screen.

I can see how that could've been misinterpreted.

It's so funny how they are hiding bogger-Doom. I mean at this point in the Story films, we saw mostly positive stuff, we saw McMahon in the Mask. I know there was controversy over the lack of armor in the first film. The second film the final Doom outfit looked pretty cool except they made the mask look worse. I thought the mask from the first film looked pretty awesome. The main problems with Doom weren't from the look, they were with motivation and change in backstory, making him a corporate tycoon. I remember Avi Arad saying that a psychotic world leader looking for domination wasn't realistic and wanted to slap him in the face (Hello? Kim John Un anyone?)

Anyway, in this film, we've only seen a leaked photo of Dark Elf/Mummy/Riding Hood blogga'-|>00|\/| that looked like crap, and him being strapped to a table. Toby Kebbell seems like a total miscast. He's not very menacing, and his roles haven't been very awe inspiring.

Say what you will about McMahon's performance (which I thought was hampered by the terrible script) but I thought he was the perfect choice for Doom. For one, he is a self admitted comic book nerd, and he embraced the role, plus the guy was great at playing characters who were terrible people, but you couldn't help but like.

My two main issues with McMahon Doom were lack of accent, and only being in full costume at the climax of each movie. When Doom's name comes up, the only imagery should be the armor.

Oh yeah, it's obvious the study doesn't have a lot of faith in the film. We see this kind of treatment with films they have little confidence in plenty of times...like you said, this is actually similar to how Jonah Hex was treated by the studio.

Another film has moved closer to the FFINO release date. The Vacation reboot featuring Ed Helms, Leslie Mann, Christina Applegate, Chris Hemsworth and Charlie Day has moved from October to July 31.

Wow! I hadn't even heard of that, but grown-up Rusty (Ed Helms) is going to be taking his family to Wally World and Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo are going to reprise their roles.

That could be a big film. The Vacation movies have a big cult following and it's been so long since the last one. I can see a lot of people getting excited about that movie.

I don't know enough about box office patterns to know what it will do to FF, but that film a week before should have some impact.

Wow I didn't know it was another Vacation movie. Guess that should be obvious since it's in the title and it's got Ed Helms, but I may end up seeing this. I love Charlie Day.

When is Crap4stic coming out again? (So I can be sure to miss it. :woot:)

I don't understand why The Vacation didn't come out the same day as F4. It's going up against MI:5 which it has no chance of beating. Why not come out the following weekend when there is a chance that it could beat F4?

Not to mention Deadpool going out of it's way to make an actual Deadpool movie feels like Fox apologizing for this.

Deadpool has a different creative team. Fox cb films needs one main person to keep the others in line imo. Snyder seems to be that guy for DCU and Feige is that for MCU.

What ever happened to Mark Millar and his position as Fox? Seems like he's disappeared.

It now seems like Kinberg has taken over for him.
