Yeah, because Greg Berlanti totally had a hand in casting Nick Fury and Heimdall. :whatever:

the mcu nick fury is based on the ultimate nick fury who is not only black but also has nick fury's likeness.

I mostly blame tumblr lol. They already have petitions for glover as spiderman already and Miles as peter I dont know why we would need miles so early.

Nick Mundy
It's pretty transparent why you don't want Miles Morales. It's also sad and hilarious.

Love Nick Mundy but he's the kinda people I hate when they call someone a racist just because they don't want a race switch or in this case replace the main hero with another guy.

There was actually an article a while back when Fast Five came out saying how the success proves that race doesnt matter that much in terms of movies.

Youre right it does have a very diverse cast. I think Paul Walker is/was the only "clear cut white guy" in the main cast of heroes. Everyone else was mixed or full on another race.

It's also a very hip hop/reggaeton infused film series.

And yet the last 2, and Im assuming 3 were huge successes.

Definitely.

I think when it comes to certain characters taking over for others in the MCU it needs to be a clear transition. If Cap at some point dies obviously Falcon is great contender for a replacement like recently in the comics. He has the relationship, spirit, moral and development with Cap for the audience to believe this is a move being done for story and the best man got the role. Likewise if Morales was ever to replace Parker. There needs to be a bond and growth there so it doesn't feel forced to the audience. Replacing any character into another role like Cap or SPidey is a tough transition for audiences regardless of race and needs to be handled through story and development.

Not even a fair comparison. Peter Parker is white and should be in any movie version in which he is played. I would have no problem with Miles being a side kick and maybe future Spidey.
I never said anything about Spidey, I said something about Jason Kane acting like Greg Berlanti is the only person making comics TV/movies that is changing characters' ethnicities.

I'm perfectly aware of that, but the character was white for about 40 years before that comic ever hit. If making Iris West and Jimmy Olsen black count as "race-bending", it applies to Fury too.

no it doesn't. if they took the ultimate fury and turned him white (or vice versa if the ultimate fury was white) then I would agree with you. they took whatever was there in the source material and applied it to the big screen. it's not at all the same as what's done to heimdall, kingpin (in daredevil), and human torch.

Let it be Miles.
Because let's try something different.

People who want to adapt godawful comics apparently want miles... I kid :P I never read a single ultimate comics.

"Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios share a love for the characters in the Spider-Man universe and have a long, successful history of working together. This new level of collaboration is the perfect way to take Peter Parker's story into the future," added Doug Belgrad, president, Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group.

The defense rests.

There is only ONE Spider-Man, and that is Peter Parker.

But that doesnt change the fact that it's different. And by what you said earlier that's why they should use Miles. So I dont see why not use Ben

Better yet, let's go for kaine! We need more terrible characters that try to act bad*** anyways!
