Marvel already confirmed Peter. The most people can hope for is a Miles cameo

That poll result is astonishing. It's almost as if Peter Parker is the definitive Spider-Man or something :o.

This poll is pointless seeing as the little press release we got quoted them saying PETER PARKER. Come on people haha. Don't be delusional.

The guy who had 160 issues of Ultimate is more important than the guy with 40+ issues and is more relevant now in that title?
No, NO.
We want the new guy.

I actually want Miguel O'Hara.

Obviously it's going to be Peter Parker. But people can still talk about their preferences and the merits of either character in a hypothetical situation.

This isn't a who is the definitive ant-man green lantern or blue beetle or something there's only one spider-man and its Peter Parker

...there actually is more than one Spider-Man.

Of course Peter is the most known Spider-Man, but do we need yet another story from him? They have a chance to do something really really groundbreaking with this - why not go for it?

Using Miles instead would be huge.

They've already stated it will be Peter Parker so. There Ya go haha.

I love this pic

His costume would be cool to see on screen too.

Who doesn't? Miguel will appear in Spider-Verse adaptation and replace Peter cause he's too awesome. True story.

Having Peter Parker in the MCU is already groudnbreaking and huge by default.

"Do we really need another story from him?" I love how people act as if Peter Parker is this particular take writers decided to go with, almost as if they were picking which Robin or Green Lantern to go with. This is such an iconic layered character that the story possibilities are near endless. Decades of material prove that, whereas Miles doesn't have half a decade to draw from and most of his material is recycled 616 content.

In that case, that GL movie should've been about Alan Scott and Jay Garrick should've been CW!Flash

Not the same thing.
Alan Scott wasn't chosen by the Guardians to get the ring. Jordan was. Jordan didn't usurp the role Scott had.
Same with Allen. He got his powers completely independent from how Garrick got his.
Whereas you have characters like Lang, who's main accomplishment is being a mediocre thief. He didn't create the tech that gave him the superpowers. Hell, he hadn't even done anything relevant in the comics until it came to light that the movie would be centered around him, at which point the comics started promoting him and actually giving him something worthwhile to do.
And then you have Miles, who wile an okay character, is again just another derivative of Parker, who got the powers the same way, and an obvious shot at appearing to care about diversity.
It would have been 100x better if they had taken the time to create him as something original with his own individual superhero identity, instead of as a replacement for someone else.

How much logic is there to make a big deal out of Spidey finally being with Marvel Studios, and have him not be Peter Parker?

They are doing something ground breaking, including Peter Parker/Spider-Man into the MCU is groundbreaking. With the possibility of him being in the Civil War movie, Infinity Wars movies, possible other movies like Dark Reign, Secret Wars, and so on. Adaptations where Spider-Man was a key player brought from print to life.

It'd be like a sports team gets a star player after months of negotiations only to put in his back up in the big game. Wouldn't make any sense.

Yeah using Miles would huge, a huge mistake. Like I said before, they didn't get their crown jewel, their #1 character, only to use the knock off brand.

ICONIC images like these brought to life, now that would be huge

Exactly, so why is this even an issue? Other people have worn the cowl. Does anyone see them making a Batman movie without Bruce anytime soon?
This is what Im saying I dont get it

95% of the Miles supporters are just fake caring about diversity.

Spider-Man/ Peter Parker is almost synonymous with Marvel comics. He's their flagship character and a brand icon. It would be like Coca Cola somehow not having the right to use their own logo but managing to get it back, and then using some cheap knockoff logo like Walmart brand Cola.

It would be New Coke all over again. :hehe:
