I would advise against that. Like most things Sony makes, the quality : price isn't worth it.

As you can see, the difference between the contrast ratios is ridiculous. 1300:1 for a $2800 HDTV and you don't even get 1080p? Also, if this kind of thing bothers you.. the thing is about 2lbs lighter than the Bravia. Also, it's power consumption is about 10V less than the Bravia.

So, if you're actually considering getting a HDTV.. I'd go with SAMSUNG or a SHARP AQUOS or something. The Bravia is a decent HDTV, but you get way too little for way too much.

On another note..

I think the PS3 design turned out pretty slick, but if the Japanese don't make even a peep about how heavy or big it is.. I'm calling shenanigans.

Yeah, Sony is a bit overpriced, but they are still sound tvs.

I just got a new tv for free (had a Samsung DLP and it broke so they gave me a new tv of my choice) While I did like the Samsung all of them can have lag, even in game mode. That's the only thing I don't really like about them.

The Aquos is just amazing though, but I did end up going with the Sony WEGA rear projection LCD, it looks beautiful, and is bigger than the Aquos I would have gotten.
