Transformers So... what do you notice for the first time with the DVD?

Well, IMO it looks like Optimus.

Ironhide isn't the main character in the movie. It seems random that Ironhide would have a very climatic opening while Optimus is just shoved to the side.

Even though Ironhide isn't the main character, Optimus already had enough money shots as it was. Especially stopping things to show him fully change 3 times in the movie(which was badass).

Anyone else notice this? I looked again, and it's either dead bot bodies strung up on the towers, or just parts of the towers dangling down.

Yeah, I noticed the hanging bodies the third or fourth time seeing it in the theatres. Looking at it closely they seem to resemble Starscreams body shape.

I noticed that when Bumblebee got his legs blown off, Jazz stayed back in his alt-form and didn't do a thing to help him.

yeah this shot has always bothered me since i saw it in the theater. i don't know what the writers/bay were thinking. it looks so stupid for him to just sit there and do nothing. even if he was in robot mode & still did nothing, it atleast would have looked better.

Transformed is mentioned...but you're right, that's the only mention of a transformer, and it's not even made toward the 'bots.

Watching the highway fight scene (chapter 19) between Bonecrusher and Optimus, you see that there is someone driving Bonecrusher before he as he is flipping cars over and before he transforms. I wonder if we are meant to see that person (as a hologram) or was it an error.

No, I heard it too. It was the same sound as the dilophosaurus (the spitting dinosaur).

It kind of helped the fact that I watched JP the other day. It was on and I hadn't seen it in a while...so I thought what the heck, I'll watch it. Then....as I watching that scene again, I thought I heard that familiar sound.

All the hologram pilots & drivers for the Decepticons were the same person.

Skorponok was riding piggyback on Blackout. The first few times it just looked like the military managed to knock Blackout off his feet & he just got back up but when using slow mo you can better see where Blackout opens up his blades & Skorponok comes out of his back & does a quick 360 into the sand. What became of Skorponok after getting his tail blown off? He retreated back into the sand but wasn't fully killed, so they could have still used him in the end battle.

I just noticed during the highway chase, all the fans standing on the overpass watching the filming!

Also, Prime and Bonecrusher start their fight on flat land and somehow when tackled, they end up on an gigantic highway interchange. Where'd the ground go?

What makes this even more odd, is that it was Jazz who gave Prime flack about not rescuing Bumblebee. Yet he just sits there after his buddy just lost his legs.

Ironhide and Ratchet didn't show up either. They were most likely all three still prepared for a follow-up attack from Starscream.

...and let's not speak of it being Optimus because of the majestic music. Come on - why wouldn't Ironhide deserve such a theme? It also makes sense story-telling wise at that point in the film...and also makes sense to show optimus getting his alt-form LAST....sheesh...no more of this...please...

i haven't listened to the commentary but i did see bay's deleted scene in the easter egg so if the scene was cut, how is it him? plus whoever megatron flicks is obviously CG.

First off I thought it was just the theatre I was in, but I was wrong. The first half of the movie has a yellow tint too it. Did anyone else notice this?

WTF? Why was there a need to make it look like dusk in the middle of the afternoon. This was ridiculous.

Didn't Ironhide change into a smaller version of that big black GMC truck? When they are sitting side by side the truck Ironhide changes into looks a little bit smaller than the other one.

it is how it is. but IMO bay already did waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much sun flare scenes. i mean in TF almost everydaytime scene has a sun shot.
after a while it loses the ''cool'' factor.

On the other hand, it's groundbreaking in the effects department.

ILM did a lot of their special effects in the daytime in this movie...unlike other special effects companies that do a lot of their effects at night.
