How about Betty Brant. Despite all that happened to her, the murders of her brother and husband, being sucked into a cult, she has not become jaded, bitter or cynical?
Peter Parker may be happily married to Mary Jane Watson now, but it was Betty, by his own admission that first jump started his heart.(No small feat for a mousy secretary who wouldn't say boo to a goose!)

Okay so really its show some love for Civilian characters, as opposed to merely supporting cast. By the way anyone who leaves Karen Page out of their top ten has no taste in my book.

&You know, I never understoond why non heroes are called "civilians." Technically, if the hero doesn't work for the government in any real capacity, they're all civilians themselves.
