    Happy Independence Day, Guest!

The Dark Knight Some Possible Joker Info.

Alright, I'm gonna cash in my chips. Lets just say I know a friend of a friend of a cousin of a guy who babysat Christopher Nolan's dogs....or something of that sort. I have um...."contact" with someone that has a copy of the legit script. I haven't mentioned this cuz i don't want to be spoiled, nor do I want to get barraged with people wanting his contact info so they can hear about it and bother him or bother me with 10000 PM questions because he's a very busy guy.

However.....the alert that this news bothers me is prompting me to look into this further....

I'll see what I can get.

Do tell us what you can find out, Anjow!

So, is it true the script rocks!? :oldrazz:

If I was Peter Parker, I would dance right now.

I say the guy who becomes the Joker probably does wear a mask and dyed his hair green at the start. He was probably gassed like everyone else who was in the narrows that night and never got caught, never got injected with that serum to get cured and really went more nuts than he already was.And later on gets disfugured in an encounter with the Batman or maybe even has his face altered on purpose to look like the Joker on the card. Remember Nolan is trying to be more realistic in his approach.

Remember that episode of MST3K where Tom finally cracks and starts shouting "END! END!" to the movie screen? That's me right now.

Seriously, I'd rather just know so I can either get used to the idea or jump for joy that it isn't true. I mean, I'm not going to pull out the old 'OMG, I'M NOT GUNNA SEE THE MOVIE NOW!!!!1ONE WAHNESS!' but it certainly wouldn't do wonders for my anticipation for TDK.

Actually getting gassed in the narrows that night could explain away a lot of the villians in the franchise as to why they would dress up the way they do. Instead of them doing it just to do it.It would make more since in the real world. The villians would be realistically crazy.Crane didn't fully become the Scarecrow until he got gassed in Begins.

I kind of assumed that was what they were going for - but, as Ronny Shade said, it's a bit too much like all those meteorite freaks in Smallville. :/

Oh God I forgot about that. I admit I do watch Smallville as a DC fanboy but Im sick of meteor freaks. Well I'll just have to have faith in Nolan.

Exactly - I think some are reading this incorrectly. It states he wears a mask BEFORE he becomes the Joker, that's all. Heath is saying the guy is already a nutball and during a robbery, The Batman comes in and causes this character to actually BECOME the Joker - he gets dropped in acid, and because he's already wearing a white clown mask, it gets fused to his face in a more Nolan, realistic fashion. Nolan is actually coming up with an explanation for his face turning white and having a more permanent grin - it's because his "robbery mask" got fused to his face, which was caused by Batman.

The Joker DOES NOT wear a mask, the person before him does.

that would blow

I don't want him to be a "person" before he's the joker -- I just want him to be the ****ing Joker, no back story needed!

I've just spent the last few minutes debating about posting this because, for starters, I really don't think it's true. Well, I think the guy is telling the truth about what Heath's stand-in is supposed to have said, but I believe his info is based on assumptions.

Besides which, Heath's stand-in didn't look young nor blond to me (perhaps Syren can shed some light on that?) but anyway:

The four of us talked about what films we had worked on. I told her I had tried for "Stranger than Fiction" but wasn't called back but worked on "Flags" all thru Joan Philo. As soon as I mentioned Joan Philo's name, Nancy's eyes lit up and confirmed that that's how she wound up at this shoot. I asked the blond kid to tell us a lil more about his time on the Batman shoot. He stated that he went there to be an extra like any other film but when the crew saw him they noticed how closely he resembled Heath Ledger (both in looks and voice) and was told that he would be one of a select few chosen as Ledger's stand-ins. How cool is that? He hung out with Ledger who said that The Joker character in this movie starts out as a unhinged, green-haired nutjob who wears a malleable clown mask when he does all his crime jobs. He said that he found out that as the movie progresses something happens to him in a Batman encounter that permanently fixates his face in the clownish appearance.

well, there may be some weight to this Miranda. i recall saying that from what we've seen so far Ledger's Joker looks like any punk who just dyed his hair green. that would certainly fit the relatively light Joker makeup Ledger's been seen in in Chicago plus that clown mask. now as for that "Batman encounter that permanently fixates his face in the clownish appearance", i for one was also under the impression that the Joker at this point was already The Joker-- meaning post accident. are they actually going with a Joker origin here, perhaps Nolan's version of what we had in B89?

Okay, let's look at the biggest problem (aside from the sides, which would appear to massively contradict this) with this theory:

It really doesn't match what the Joker is meant to look like. I say this as someone who really does *know*, more or less, what he will look like (unless that has changed at some point - and I don't think it has.)

A clown mask being welded to his face is not going to produce that look. It just isn't.

As, from what I have gathered, it's something pretty close to this manip I did awhile back:

What say all of you?

And what about the rest of his body being white? Going by the set pic, Ledger's neck is also white. This report is BS.

It's not bad. Of course it's nothing without Ledger's actual expressions, you know? It's Joker, just hope it'll be a bit... more! Just a tiny bit! Love the manip, though...

get me the script man and i'll help you with those 10000 PMs ;)

I like the image. Who knows maybe Nolan wont give us the massive grin from the comics. Maybe this Joker will just have more of a Develish grin and maniacal laugh.

Heath already has a very wide grin (see my avatar) so I don't think there is much need to enhance it. ;)

Yeah I think they will make sure they distance themselves from Joker 89 as much as possible. They already know the comparisons are coming.

Yep, Ledger's grin is perfect for Joker. And he def has the charisma (*watches Brothers Grimm*).

I hope they do give Joker some sort of backround like a comedian or something. I don't want him to be a hard core criminal before he's really joker. I'm also wondering if he'll be one of the escaped crazy people from arkham asylum. He could already be well on his way to being the joker even before his face is scarred.
