The Amazing Spider-Man SONY stops paying for 3D glasses...what does this mean?

Less people are buying them on home video and instead renting them, because it's cheaper.

To be fair, I rent movies because I like to make sure the movie doesn't suck before I buy it.

Why would the decide beforehand not to see it? I made the choice that I was going to see it in not only 3D but IMAX 3D before this announcement was made. I'm probably going to spending close to 50 dollars between my and my girlfriend's ticket with this announcement. It's not stopping me.

I'm not going into an economics debate with you. My point still stands. Anyone going to see a 3D movie, is still going to see a 3D movie if it's two dollars more. Not every 3D movie is going to be extra, only Sony 3D movies. And who knows how much we'll be paying for the glasses. It could be as little as 80 cents for all we know.

it was 70 dollars to watch a movie with only 4 people last week...
when I saw that 3d movie with the bird that couldn't fly, it was 60 for three people. with this new addition it would be 66. 60 was pushing it. I had to contemplate it. At 66? I don't have to contemplate it.

my girlfriend doesn't speak english. With a three d kids movie I figured it wouldn't be too boring for her. I wouldn't bother taking her to see a 2d movie in a language she can't understand. And at 66 dollars for three people were simply not going.

The more you raise the price, the more you drive away customers.

what part of the states were they charging this? if you live in America? lol

I'd argue that if you don't want to spend 66 dollars....bring your own refreshments. That price isn't the tickets so much as it is the food and beverage aspect. Bring a box of candy and two bottles of soda in your girflriend's purse and you're back to spending 30-40 dollars...

I never spend more than 30-35 dollars at a movie theater. Usually less.

Put them in your pockets or get a girlfriend lol

You'd be surprised at how much **** you can fit in a hoodie pouch.

35 bucks for popcorn and drinks? This is why I never buy snacks from the theater. Sneak it in!

it was a spur of the moment trip and when we decided to leave the movie was going to start soon so we went straight to the theater.
my uncle paid for it all and i felt kind of bad, all i can say is thank you a million times.

I see, I see. I would still never buy snacks from the theater, even at the last minute.

in this town 2 hours away though (where most of my family lives) the tickets are 3 dollars.

I don't know how much tickets are here because I never go to theaters to see movies. I go to the Drive-In with my friends and family because it's fun and cheap. But I have to make an exception next year and go to IMAX to see Spider-Man.

I want to see this movie in IMAX, but I'd have to drive into the city and I don't want to do that. So I'll probably just see it in regular 3D.

I have to go a pretty long way to get to IMAX, too. I still don't know if I'll be able to, but I'm going to do everything I can to get there. :funny:

the IMAX is a 7 minute skytrain(which is right beside my house) ride away for me.

Then I googled it and it wasn't as cool as it sounded...
