    Happy Independence Day, Guest!

Spawn Reboot | Blumhouse

The dream is real! I would sell my soul to Malebolgia to be just a grip on this movie, or even a coffee boy. :o

Blumhouse is a good fit for what Todd's said he wanted.

It's great that he teamed up with Blumhouse. So the budget won't be over 20 mill max.

He's been talking about a new Spawn movie for what feels like over a decade. Glad he's finally made it happen. Hope it ends up being good.

I don't even care about the movie, I'm just elated that my first thread is a success. F**k Yeah. :awesome: :awesome:

Glad it's finally happening, I'm excited. Can't wait for more news to start rolling in.

20 years later, but we're finally getting it! Should be interesting if this and Venom(another McFarlane creation) come out the same year.

One thing I really liked in the '97 film was that Spawn was front-and-center in flashy set pieces, but I know McFarlane has long talked about a smaller thing where Spawn stays in the background/behind-the-scenes. I imagine this'll be the latter thing. Either way, I'm in.

I'm not really into the "You won't really see Spawn much at all" direction they are going for but I guess they want to try and get this franchise off the ground any way they can.

I'm one of the few who likes a spawn in the background horror movie. 20 minutes of screen time could be prefect if it tells a compelling detective story. Can do a true spawn action movie in the sequel.

Same here, he should be the main character front and centre for me. But I will see how this progresses.

I commend McFarlane for sticking to his guns and holding out until he got what he wanted. I think the right folks are behind the project and we might actually get the horror film the character deserves.

It'll never happen, but wouldn't mind jai white returning in a reboot.

Blumhouse, finally,
but McFalane's directorial debut is just...

Fan-cast Sam & Twitch for the Spawn reboot...

My vote goes to John Goodman and Gary Oldman

I'd love to see more of them on film than I'd like to see of Spawn. Did they appear in the first movie?

Yeah, but only as cameos at the end arresting Jason Wynn. Also Angela had a cameo in the first movie in the gala scene, always weird to think she's a Marvel character now.

I don't remember them being named. Sam looks like Harvey Bullock.
Angela is tired after Spawn killed her boss, she moved on to be Thor's real sister and the opposite of Loki.

This and The Crow reboot, both.
That story needs no reboot, its film adaption is very well made as it is.

If this thing actually does happen, who would you guys cast as Spawn?

BTW, I would actually want this movie to be ABOUT Spawn. I remember McFarlane saying something a while back that he'd make a movie where Spawn was just a boogie man and it would instead focus on Sam and Twitch for the majority of the film... f*** that. Even with Black Panther coming, there's still a dearth of black superheroes on film, and I have no interest in a Spawn movie that sidelines its main character.

Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out) might be good, though he has a role in Black Panther so that might exclude him. Jacob Anderson (Game of Thrones) might be decent too, though he'd have to pack on some muscle. I also like Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight), though I'm holding out hope that he gets cast as John Stewart.
