special things you did for your significant other?

It's a compulsion of mine to mention that I am forever alone whenever one of these relationship threads pop up.
I tend to do that too

Yeah, you did.

I was just checking, because it would drive me nuts to find out that my compulsion missed a relationship thread somewhere.

When I'm home I take the kid so she can have the day to do what she wants.

Boring I know, but you'll all see oneday how much your wife will appreciate it.

she's kind of afraid of flying so once when we were going to england i put some headphones on her just before we boarded. It was playing "Within your Reach" by the replacements, Then when we got in i told her to look at the little seatbelt light and held her hand until the light ding'd off.

("Say Anything" was her favorite movie as a kid:heart::csad:)

Jonty needs a mail order bride... or perhaps a prison pen pal

You have to bring a horse to water Lackey. :o

Prison Pen Pals

This even tells you when they are getting out.

hm, the last special thing i did was buy my boyfriend a takara limited edition foot-tall fully posable optimus prime when i went to asia this summer. i looked everywhere for something cool and transformers-related to get him.

we don't do birthdays, anniversaries or christmas anymore, we just buy things when the opportunity comes up.

Doesn't need to be a "Special Day' be make it special.
Wish my g/f was like that....she always makes me celebrate those holidays.:csad:

i only suggested it because i was really lazy one year and had no idea what to get him for his birthday and didn't want to go scour the earth for the perfect present. it's so much easier to just buy something when you see it. and i'm an awful secret keeper, so i could never buy something in say, january and keep it till his birthday in may.

being forced to buy presents at specific dates just makes for potentially crappy presents.

Lately, I feel that whatever I do for my loved one I get nothing in return...so maybe I should be doing nothing as well.

Girlfriends favorite colour is blue and her favourite sweet is smarties, so I bought shedloads of smartie tubes, and filled one up of only blue smarties. (and I don't need to tell you how rare those little buggers are)

Small gesture but meant a lot at the time. I've done other, more grandiose things, but that sticks out most in her mind.

the most recent thing...held her in my arms and sang to her :)

I just bought tickets to see Trans Siberian Orchestra for November the seventh.

hmmm...

Cooked special meals
Sent flowers to his work
Sent cake to his work
Bought him the gifts he wanted (we make each other "wish lists", it makes life easier) even when they were ridiculously expensive
Scrubbed his back in the shower
Rubbed his back in
and (caution this one is icckky)
clipped his toenails after a shower
- mostly in self defense though
