Spider-Man 2.1 additional scenes revealed

Actually, he didn't throw Spidey in front of the train. Again, if you watch the clip properly, you see that when he spots the train coming, he lets Spidey go.
Yeah, so the train wouldn't slam into his tentacles. It seems his intention was to let Spidey get hit by the train.

You don't know that.

And another thing, even if Ock did kill Spider-Man. So what?? How's Harry going to know the difference?? Ock delivers a lifeless body. Harry would probably just think he's unconscious.

Either way, the result would be the same, spidey gets hit by a speeding train. However, my point is, Ock's lack of ability to follow instruction. There's that and of course the blatant car tossing through the window. I'm still wondering how Ock planned on getting answers from what could have easily been a dead peter parker.

As I said above, dead or alive Spidey, Ock would still get what he wanted. Harry would be none the wiser until Ock had left with the tritium.

Spidey was unconscious when Ock delivered him. He may as well have been dead. Harry wouldn't have known until it was too late.

Yeah, that was a definite goof. Ock could easily have made a dramatic entrance by tearing down the front of the cafe with his tentacles.

Raimi sacrificed logic for dramatic effect.

Yeah, I completely agree about spidey's death not mattering to ock, that's why I made Ock's lack of following instruction the main point I wanted to address, that's why in my earlier post I said I want to see a S6 movie because Ock isn't a follower but a leader who just does his own thing.

He certainly wouldn't have saved him by letting go at the very last moment. If he really wanted him alive, he would've pulled him back up. Also he had a frustrated look when he saw Spidey alive after the train slammed him.

Spidey was a thorn in his side since the begining of the movie, so I am quite sure Ock didn't really care what happened to Spidey because he could have easily went back and "talked" Harry into giving him the tritium. That's how I always saw the last two battles anyway, Ock just trying to get rid of him.

PS: That youtube footage was AWESOME! I wish there was something out there more HD, but I'll have to wait a couple weeks.

Oh man, that extended train battle is just to sweet for words!!! I always thought it was the baddest and best made, not to mention most intense fight-sequence ever created on film! and that was BEFORE!!!... HOLY CRAP!!! They enhance that even more in this extended fight!!! It looks great! PERFECT edited in!

Hey, do you guys already have the movie? Well, put in disk two and watch the Spidey 3 SP!

^ NO... the whole train fight sequence can be seen on the previous page of this thread!.. check it out!! It looks awesome!

oh man i remember the first time seeing this in theatres, i burst out laughing when doc ock tosses the two ppl at spidey, and when he catches the first one spidey just tosses her to the side, i had no idea he was going to web her up, i just thought he got rid of her, LOL that would have been hilarious

The extended scene of the pizza delivery is pretty funny. Peter tries to rip the webbing from the pizza boxes and stuffs it in his pocket.

The extended birthday party is also good, especially when he's talking with Harry.

The apartment battle caught me off guard, I wasn't sure when it was gonna happen.

Dude, you need to watch more movies :o

See, this is the hard part about whether or not to get this set. From that dvdtown.com review, it sounds the additional eights minutes are hit and miss.

Seriously, did the elevator scene need to be longer in this version?

I guess I still may have to get this because of the fact that it looks like it got remastered, which is a good, good thing. Still, I'm just on the fence about this release....

The elevator scene isn't really longer, it's actually a completely new scene.

Completely new? Well, that's interesting.

The other problem I think I may have with this release is the recut train sequence. Personally, I thought the sequence was perfect. The way it's edited. The music. Everything was perfect. And now, after having seen the sequence recut on youtube, I'm not so sure how the just tracked music from that sequence to the extended stuff. It comes off awkward....

Personally, I like the new fight scene. It's a lot more brutal. I'd say the additional eight minutes are worth it, some of the new parts are great. Jameson in the Spider-Man suit, for instance. The birthday party, fight scenes, and bits and pieces here and there.

I know what you mean Howlett, if it was 20-30 extra mins that are hit and miss, i'd still buy it in a heartbeat, but the fact we are getting so little, and some of it sounds average or poor, has made me think twice about buying this.

I see what you mean, and I don't blame you. I bought it on Tuesday; I couldn't help it.
