When you buy the sm3 dvd at Walmart, it'll come with an exlusive comic written by Bendis and Bagley! Take a look at the cover, Page 11, Page 12, Page 15 and Page 19.

Wow! That looks awesome! :wow::up:

I will probably be getting it at Wal-Mart. FYE is offering a Gift set though. It's so hard to decide!

From the looks of it, this comic could show what happens right after Eddie gets the suit.

Interesting... Any word if this version hits the UK?

The comic will have scenes that were deleted/not in the movie. eg, the page with Gwen and Captain Stacy was a scene that was deleted from the final battle.

^ It might be, but I have a feeling it will be with the DVD in one wrapped package, side by side.

I bet it wont come with the 2 disc version of the movie either, Wal-Mart is terrible with that kind of thing.

Not even Bagley's beautiful artwork can get me to buy SM3.

That's exactly what I'm thinking, though it's nice that someone remembered that Venom was in this movie.

It's sort of sad that this is about as deep as they'll ever delve into what happened.

this is awesome.
If you, like thousands of other comics fans, are planning on picking up the DVD of Spider-Man 3 when it hits the street on October 29th, but weren’t quite sure where you were going to get it, Brian Bendis has some news that might help you decide.

“A few months ago, Sony hired me and Mark Bagley to do a one-shot comic of all new material that will be in the Spider-Man 3 DVD as a Wal-Mart Exclusive,” Bendis told Newsarama. “It fills in all of the bits about Venom that you didn’t get to see in the movie in a dot-connecting kind of way.”

According to Bendis, while Sony may have approached them, he already had an idea once they told him what they were looking for. “Sony suggested the angle of finding material that ‘happened’ in the movie, but didn’t make it to the screen,” Bendis said. “I had some ideas already of ways to pull things together from the film – like how Venom found Sandman, for instance. I had some ideas in my head, and I was thrilled to put them on paper. It got approved pretty quickly with no bumps in the road or anything – and hey – I’m working with Mark again, so there’s nothing wrong with that at all.”

And speaking of his collaborator, Bendis said that he did have a pang of guilt in writing the project which heavily includes Venom. “Mark can’t avoid the symbiotes anymore, I think,” Bendis said with a laugh. “They’re everywhere he goes – Ultimate Spider-Man had symbiotes just before he left, and then he’s on to Mighty Avengers, with more symbiotes, and this, which went like "Hey Mark want to do this Spider-Man DVD comic?”

“Sure! What’s in it?”

“Venom.”

“Symbiotes. Great. Goddamn symbiotes.”

The comic, written by Bendis, with pencils by Bagley, inks by Scott Hanna and edited by Nicole Boose is an extra included in copies of the DVD that will be sold at Wal-Mart.

Yep...they did the same thing with Transformers. You could get the prequel and the one-disc version, or you could get the two disc uber-version. Unfair. I'd rather them bundle it with the two disc and make it worth my while.

I'm with ya.

I figure it'll probably be online within a couple of hours, though. I mean, realistically, I would've just read it once and then it'd collect dust.

ME!!!

Congratulations!

Bingo. It'll end up on the internet, so it's fairly useless to buy the DVD just for this.

I just hope all the people refusing to buy this will refuse to then buy even worse summer "fun" like Pirates 3, Fantastic Four 2 and Transformers. ;) :p

I bought Transformers and liked it as much as I did in the theaters. Maybe that's because of my new 7 speaker system, but even as a film I really like it. POTC 3...can't say anything about it myself, though one friend who did see it specifically told me it was a horrible film. Fantastic Four 2 wasn't bad, but not something I want to buy on DVD. It's just not that kind of film. With this film...well, I won't even get started. The 2 of the 3 you mentioned that I did watch were no place near as painful.
