SR was a snoozefest and also had a terrible story. It only made it's money back cause it was friggin Superman. Just adding high amounts of action doesn't do anything but create another X3, F4 type of movie. Big hype and a huge BO drop in the second week.
TF is not a sequel, it has to build some ground and impress with it's marketing, good actors, great story and visuals. Sorry but Bay = mediocrity! He's in the same league like Bratt Ratner.
All the other action movies already have a fanbase to build up on, even F4.
No way in hell is TF going to be in the top 5 this year. You're delirious just like the "Snakes on a Plane" and Superman fans last year. You actually believe the hype you created yourself. No one in the outside world gives a hoot about Transformers. Whatever action they put in the trailers, if the story sucks (and Bay pretty much guarantees it), it'll end up with a nice opening and huge drop when Potter hits.
Why am I bringing up the comedies and "normal" movies? Cause in the last few summers there always was at least one normal movie that outdid one or two highly anticipated movies. Not everyone likes sci-fi and fantasy or only in small amounts. You underestimate the publics interest in crazy action movies. Especially when they already got served several of them for 2 months in a row. "Evan Almighty" has the biggest appeal to families while F4, DH4 and Potter5 have the biggest chances to draw interest from the older crowds cause most people already know what to expect from them. TF doesn't bring anything new to the table. Fighting robots are nothing impressing in 2007. Neither is a flying man punching or lifting stuff. Anyone knows what CGI can do since LotR, Star Wars and the tons of Marvel movies coming every year. The actual story makes or breaks a movie.
But please, go on and delude yourself. Just don't start crying when everything you've dreamed of falls apart and you face the cold face of reality.
SR Would have done alot better is Singer would have added more action. I wasnt talking about getting rid of the story which wasnt exactly terrible but was just long and tedious. And then going against the comics and suddenly giving SP the ability to resist Krypotinite?? That was the stupidest part of the film to me. SR's story was way better than X3s and F4 story ever was. It just put you to sleep, thats it.

Well many of those things are done and going to be done. The marketing campaign hasnt kicked into full gear because its only April, and its still farther ahead than Shrek 3 in terms of advertising. Good Actors?? Well we have Shia who has already proven himself as a actor. We have Tyrese who isnt a Oscar Winner but anyone who has seen Baby Boy knows that hes ok in his own right. We also have Jon Voight who some people may not like but hes still a good actor. Not to mention all the voice actors such as Peter Cullen, Keith David, and Hugo Weaving, and serveral other unknown voice actors one of which I'm betting will be Frank Welker. Visuals?? Are you serious?? The CGI is being done by Industrial Light and Magic one of the leading houses in Special FX, who created the CGI of the Original SWs and its Prequels(ugh), The Hulk,
The Abyss( Mind you it had the first 3D CGI character ever), T2:Judgement Day, Jurassic Park, the Mask and POTC 2, so I think that would make you think were in good hands. Also ILM has stated themselves these are the most difficult and impressive CGI they have ever done, and Bay has already proven himself a excellent action director (for the good and bad) so you can expect a mind blowing experience in terms of visuals. The only thing thats iffy right now is the story and thats underwraps and cant be judged until it comes out.

Doesnt bring anything new?? Tell me a recent movie with CGI that had dueling races of aliens that transform from vehicles into robots that wage war on our planet. Sounds pretty new to me. Also in that case where TF does bring anything new to the table than neither does Spider-man 3, or F4, Nor Die Hard 4, or Potter 5.
Diehard 4 and F4 2?? Are you serious again?? Die Hard 4 has a better chance of getting farther than F4 2. You should hear with what there doing with Galactus. A cloud. Nuff Said. Diehard 4 wont be as big as you think it will. Its the fact that its so old the reason why its not going to be as big as its predeccessors, plus some stupid decisions( Justin Long?? Internet Terrorists?? come on now), its like wanting another Lethal Weapon with Mel and crew back in tow but there all too old. I'll keep a open mind about them so I wont bash them but I dont expect either to be good or do terribley well.

It appears you messed up in your grammar. You said I under estimate the publics view on action movie not over. Not everone like comedies. You over estimate the publics interest in comedies. Double edged sword.

No one gave a hoot about 300 until they started seing the Trailers. Wait until June. No I'm not delirous like the SOAP fans or the SR fans. I dont but into the hype. I saw those movies on DVD. And I rented too. I never have goten on saying Transformers will be the greatest movie ever like the SOAP fans did. Hell I still have doubts about the movie. I just keep a open mind. So ok I will give you this. Transformers might not make it into the top 3 but without a doubt (and theres no way in hell im backing down from this) it will be in the top 5. Shrek 3 as stated before needs to get its act in gear already, its underwhelming so far the footage we have seen(of Shrek 3), and I have stated this multiple times that it is stuck between two juggernauts. POTC 3 can deliver funny and still be good for the kids seing how charming and witty Jack is and parents get a kick out of him too. The only thing is the violence that might set them off or the long run time. So no im not delirious over transformes nor will I shed a tear if its not in the top 3 this summer. I know that Spide3 will certainly beat it out as well as POTC 3 and most likely Potter 5 but thats it. Shrek is a no-no no matter what you say to me.
