Activision has the video game rights for Spider-Man and the X-Men until 2017.

Pat: I like the suit. :P It has the looks of the original comic suit with a new twist to it.

Also, at least it doesn't have spider nipples. :P

Man, I liked the costume.
It's different, with a fresh air. I want to see how the spider in the back looks like, specially the mask, but I liked the spider in the chest and the details overall.

And I also wouldn't mind that for a game.

I wouldn't mind that costume for a skin, but for the main suit in a game thats not based on the movie, then no. I like the old red 'n blues, one of the best designs for a super hero costume ever.

I think the new suit itself is pretty badass, fresh new take on an already existing design and it sets itself apart from the Raimi suit (not saying that the Raimi suit was bad)

But that suit doesnt look like it was designed by a kid. It looks like it was designed by a multi national corporation with wallets deeper than the grand canyon. I just think it looks, at least from that image, too well crafted to be developed by a kid in highschool. I dont know, ill wait until there is a better image to fully decide, but to me it seems they are taking too many liberties with one of the most iconic out fits in all of comics.

I must be the only one. Does no one have a problem that there looks to be Under Armor mesh in between the thumb and palm? Or that there seems to be no "belt" or that the gloves come up into a weird shape at the forearm? Why cant they just stick with Spidey's costume from the comic?

So far the only thing i like about the reboot is the casting of Emma Stone.

To me it looks like there was a "belt", but was ripped off in whatever fight Peter just got out of in this shot.

The new costume clearly isn't the same as raimis... its got the classic spidey motif but its been modified and looks edgier and darker.

Well I don't think you'd want to see the same spider suit from the previous trilogy. After all this is a reboot and as such, they need to make sure that when people look at this spider-man, they instantly know this movie is not part of the other 3.

And to be honest, I don't mind the suit. But until I see the suit in better light and in high detail, I can be too sure. Really interested in seeing the mask. Don't know why, but the spider-man face shape really needs to be perfect.

Now back to the game, I just wasn't fond of SD. I've heard good things about the game, but each time I picked up the controller and my movements were limited and I was completely caged in, I couldn't help but get upset. I mean free roam is perfect for spider-man as long as time is taken to make the game good.

It would be like putting Superman in a cage environment and that's how each level is. Just doesn't work for him.

Just because its red and blue doesnt make it Spider-Man. Its got some dumb, emo, edgy vibe to it. IMO, they have no business changing the look, and shape of the classic suit. Raimi's suit was far more faithful to the comics than this stuff. This looks like a Hot Topic Spider-Man.

Like i said, ill wait until i know more and see the whole suit to judge, but from this image, i dont like where they are headed.

IMO, they have no business changing the look, and shape of the classic suit.

This is baffling to me. It's got the same colors, the same pattern, it has a spider and webs on the chest. I'm just not seeing this huge departure from Spider-Man's classic costume that some of you are.

Help me understand why this suit is such a horrible transgression.

It's not the classic costume...it isn't.

But, it still looks nice. I don't mind the gloves, although the the stripe of red above where the glove ends is a bit off to me. I wish the web pattern on his shoulders and chest continued down to his abdomen.

I really like how the spider emblem stands out, though. It's alot darker and bolder than the pattern which is nice.

Personally, I really like the new suit. Raimi's is defenitely more faithful to the comics, but this suit is not supposed to be completely faithful. I guess you can say it fits for what they are going for. The mask will make it or break it, so it better be good.

But, it is different.

The real deal maker/breaker could be the mask.
