Well I already suggested that in the post you just quoted :P

I agree, Ubisoft are one of those devs who are just completely dedicated to quality.

Eh Ubisoft produces their fare share of poor titles. I say give Spidey to Rockstar San Diego

Yep. It's kinda disheartening when people's magical solution to this is always Rockstar. Rocksteady used to be pretty unknown, then look what happened...
If you would have read earlier post, then you would see where Ubisoft was also mentioned as a developer that could deliver a good Spider-Man game. I agree yes, Rocksteady was relatively unknown until Arkham Asylum released.
I wasn't specifically talking about you. I was agreeing that other developers could also make great Spider-Man games. I was commenting that most people in general just throw around the Rockstar name.

That future where Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions dev Beenox will be Activision's go-to studio for Marvel's franchise we reported on last month? It's officially this year. The publisher revealed during its Q4 2010 financial call that a new Spider-Man game is in development and will be released by the end of the calendar year. No further details were divulged.
It was also announced in the call that 2011 will see the release of licensed titles from Activision based on Family Guy and Wipeout. The latter's the "obstacle course" style game show, not Sony's futuristic racing franchise.
Activision further confirms new Spider-Man game out this year at conference, developed by Beenox.
Out already by the end of this year? Jeez, how much development time is this game getting? Then we'll be getting a movie game for the reboot undoubtedly in 2012.
Hmm, i wonder why that is? Why would people use Rockstar as an example for a developer that could do Spider-Man justice? I just dont know why anyone would use them as an example. Can anyone here think of any games that Rockstar has made that could possibly lead someone to think that they could do a good Spider-Man game? What open world games that are critically acclaimed have they made? Im drawing a blank here...
Because, you know, Rockstar is gold and anything they do will be awesome.

Exactly.
Their track record speaks for itself, compared to say Beeonox, Treyarch, Shaba, Vicaroius Visions, do i need to continue?

The point of socool's comment: missed.
Anyways, I'm getting nervous that this game is coming out this year. Considering Activision STILL hasn't learned anything going by the recent Guitar Hero incident, and they seem to be rushing this. I liked Shattered Dimensions, but I would love it if Activision no longer has the license.
No i got it. But it was so painfully misguided there was no need to respond to it, so i responded with more evidence as to why Rockstar could handle Spidey better than what we have been given. There's really no debate to be had about that.
I agree, even though some people here might not like the direction that GTA 4 took or any of the GTA games for that matter, each game in the series elevated itself above the previous. Rockstar opened the doors for open world gaming in general, they get my credit for taking a city like Liberty City which is based on NYC and recreating it in all of its glory all while adding detail to their character models, vehicles, etc. Activision on the other hand seems to do the bare minimal when it comes to Spider-Man, SM3 did not have a next gen feel to it, it felt like SM2 with slightly sharper graphics, definitely not worth 60 dollars.
I'm not doubting Rockstar's talent at all. Even when I was disappointed with Grand Theft Auto IV, it took the awesomeness Red Dead Redemption to ease my worries. I'm just a little annoyed that it's the ONLY option most people (not all) seem to go for, especially when I just don't see the studio being interested in any kind of superhero games at all. I would love to eat my words about this, but let's be more realistic.
