Spider-Man: Edge of Time

I suspect the next time we see free-roam in a Spidey game will be the game for ASM.

That's starting to become what I'm thinking.

As much as I want a free roam spidey game, I just don't really care anymore. Like others, i've given up waiting for a good spidey game. I'm perfectly happy with inFamous 2 and Batman Arkham City as my free roam superhero games of the year. Not to mention Skyrim, LA Noire, Gears 3, Uncharted 3 and Mass Effect 3, i'll be perfectly content with games for this year.

It's just a shame, because I remember being a teenager and looking forward to a new Spidey or Marvel game more than ANYTHING. It would be nice to have that feeling again, but we all adapt.

Speaking of games I'm looking foward to, here's my most hyped.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Duke Nukem: Forever, Batman: Arkham City, L.A. Noire, and yes, Spider-Man: Edge of Time. I have to, because I'm a Spider-Man fan. As for Mass Effect 3? I really liked the first 2 games, but I'm in no hurry to play the 3rd especially with some of the other titles coming out.

Spider-Man is really gonna have to wow me to crack my most wanted list, which sucks because he's still one of my fav fictional characters.

Arkham City, LA Noire, Gears of War 3, Mortal Kombat and I Am Alive(IF it comes out this year, lol).

Mass Effect 3 and this new Spidey game will be renting games.

I think ASM will most likely be the next free-roam game because Beenox seems to think fans only want level-based games, which is just stupid. Give me Amazing, give me 2099, give me Noir, I could care less, BUT make it a free-roam and it'll be awesome.

I can already guess that Osborn and Octavius will NOT be the main villains for this game, lol.

You don't really have to, lol. I am a huge Batman fan, but I didn't play any Batman games after Vengeance until Arkham Asylum, haha.

Is it what I wanted? Not really. I feel slightly cheated...but still, this could mean a real story and hopefully they improve upon the Shattered Dimensions formula to make it feel like a different game. Sounds like a good premise, plus getting rid of two dimensions will allow them to build more on the old engine to make it feel different.

As for the city...I dunno if they will do free roam. It seems like too much, not to mention they want it to be story-focused which leads me to believe we won't care about the city too much. I hope they give us real city levels for 616. I don't want no jungles or sand quarries. I also hope they rid 2099 of Dan Gilvezan. I didn't like him...

The picture is sweet as all hell. I love it.

Well, it would make sense seeing as how WoS turned out with its supposedly "free-roam", but still, IF Beenox took some extra time and cared about the quality of a game, I bet they could make an outstanding free-roam game.

I wasnt expecting it to be 2 universes, but Im not upset as I loved the 2099 gameplay but the environment was just bland and not as interesting as the others. I was hoping for a Noir expansion. Either way, I hope both universes have the same visual art style. Amazing in SD was the weakest of the 4 and way too cartoony. I wouldnt mind if it looked more like 2099 did

I wouldn't put free roam behind us yet. Most of the time given to them when they took out Noir and Ultimate may allow them the opportunity

The reason I use quotations is because it was a poor excuse of free roam seeing as how free-roaming games are usually good.

Believe it or not. They are only focusing on 2099 and 616, obviously. I think it will be like a longer, slightly more polished Shattered Dimensions clone.

Not that I'm complaining, that's all I ask for right now. Let's inch our way into a good Spider-Man game, not charge at it.

After ASM, Beenox should take time to make a great 616 game. Leave the yearly games alone after this game(and obviously ASM, which will be next year). Let's see them do this and maybe in 2014 we can get an actual great game, or even 2013(if Beenox solely works on the game outside of the movie tie-in).

Thats the flimsiest line of logic ever. Free Roam is just a format, it has no bearing on quality whatsoever. Thats like saying "How can they justify calling Homefront an FPS? It wasn't good like COD or Battlefield!"

ACTUALLY....that would be pretty damn cool. GG should be the only choice since GG is Spidey's greatest nemesis.

I'm serious. They dropped the license to multiple games because they couldn't make them yearly releases.
