Spider-Man: Edge of Time

Yeah, i'd much rather Dr Strange over Madame Web. I think there's potential for funnier dialogue.

It's not fair to compare Ubisoft to Activision in that way. With their core franchises, they've still shown they have a strong focus on making the best possible game, rather than just churning out the titles.

Let's just wait to see if they mess up Assassin's Creed, and the wait won't be any longer, imo, as they plan to make a new AC game even for this year. If it's a game to only stall the plot, then yes, Ubisoft will ruin the series already. We had Brotherhood, awesome, I can let that get by, but if they stall once more without giving the fans that were told we'd only get a trilogy, then Ubisioft will just be as bad as Activision, imo.

I totally agree. He's the only villain that I would accept do that.

So out of curiosity, I began reading character profiles in Shattered Dimensions and in the 2099 world, it is rumored that Spider-Man was killed by Doc Ock...

Maybe it's actually him?

Oh ok...yeah, seems it will probably be Doc Ock then. I don't know what I feel about that. While Doc Ock is one of the Big 2 (there's no Big 3 imo, Venom simply doesn't deserve to be compared with GG and Doc Ock), I still think Green Goblin should be that one.

I don't want any original and new, made-for-the-game exclusive 2099 villains when the 2099 Spidey Rogues are great themselves. Give us the Goblin, Vulture, Venom of the 2099 varieties, Flipside, and throw in a cameo apperance of Punisher 2099.

That would be great. Maybe a return of Scorpion 2099 as well (he's from the comics too).

Well, since technically Doc Ock 2099 is no longer a new "made-up" villain, she could be in as well. :oldrazz:

But seriously, I hope they also put in villains that don't have regular counterparts, like Flipside (who got a costume in the last game), Venture & Risque, the Specialist, Data-Pirate (as a joke villain), etc. Maybe even have some supporting casts from those books.

Never heard of those. Interesting. Will check those out.

What are you talking about? AC 3 is out this year. There was ONE game between 2 and 3.

I think it is. I think it takes place after the events of SD so that 2099 and 616 already know each other.

Not to mention that Spider-Man and Spidey 2099 look almost identical to how they looked in Shattered Dimensions.

I translated Beenox's latest Facebook post to English:
It's not all, other surprises on our next game Spider-Man: Edge of Time next Monday to discover ...
I guess we'll see the trailer Monday.

Other surprises to discover? A trailer is hardly a surprise... I wonder what they're talking about?

You know something that I don't because we just know Ubisoft plans on releasing a new AC game, that's all, and even if it's called Assassin's Creed III, it will definitely NOT be the AC game we're expecting since Ubisoft wants to release an AC game every year from now on AND the main guy who started it all is not with Ubisoft any longer. The ONLY hope that we can get just the main trilogy and Ubisoft work on new characters outside of Desmond in future installments is in the hands of Corey May.

The next AC is supposed to be announced in May, so id assume it wont be out this year.

Didn't Ubisoft say they were trying for yearly releases on all AC games? Or was that just me?

Anyway...

The more I think of this plot, ignoring the gameplay, the more excited I get. This plot is actually fantastic! Or the premise at least...let's hope they pull it together in the end.

Re-reading some of my 2099 comics, I've decided I want a fight with Doom 2099 as he's awesome.

I dont know if they ever stated that, i know they felt it could be an ongoing franchise though. I actually thought they recently stated they were going to take some time off before releasing AC III.

IMO that sounds like a great idea for Ubisoft, this may very well be the last AC game that we get, so I'm sure they wanna end it with a bang. Taking time away gives them time to come up with fresh ideas and maybe incorporate some new gameplay elements to deliver something fresh. I can't say that I'm gonna pick up this new Spidey game, at least not right when it drops.
