Yep, same thing with Iron Fist. I'm thinking that Harry and Liz will be the two main Midtown students hence why they were cast so earlyUm, supporting characters from the comics, who else would they be? And they don't need 'serve the main plot' in order to be in the movie, just be background characters like they were in the SSM tv show.

It was a rhetorical question. The movie doesnt need a bunch of random supporting characters to just stand in the background.

I'm personally going to be disappointed if Harry and Gwen aren't in the first movie. Especially Harry. I want the Osborns to have as much setup as possible.

Kelsey Chow played Sally Avril to my knowledge. Still, having a Sally in this MCU series wouldn't hurt because no one remembers Kelsey as Sally lol.

It'd be super cool if Peter this time around had that circle of friends dynamic that TSSM had. Along with Flash's bully group that sort of liked Peter, sort of not. Just to have Peter juggling these different scenarios (Spider-Man, close friends, rival bullies, Bugle, Aunt May, Avengers, etc.) But I think the circle of friends dynamic is important. We didn't get that in Raimi's or Webb's series.

Just to have Peter juggling these different scenarios (Spider-Man, close friends, rival bullies, Bugle, Aunt May, Avengers, etc.) But I think the circle of friends dynamic is important. That's something Feige seems to be pursuing.

Spideyboy what would be your cast be for the first movie?

The idea of flash and liz plus random non important characters like Michelle Gonzales filling in his highschool void I rather like, it's growing on me. With mj intro-ing near the end with her classic "Face it tiger"

Honestly I want the high school years over as soon as possible, and that's when I'd preffer Harry and Gwen introduced. I'd even be OK with MJ being the connection.
Keep Peter in this film juggling school, First hs dance, bullies, and villains and a little less on his love life for the first film.

For diversity I'd swap liz and include robbie Robertson who could help Peter get the bugle job with his dad Joe working there. I'd also have Peter crush on betty

How about marketing? I wonder is Sony's team is involved. Probably not, with the logo revealed last week is clearly Marvel's. I wanna see some kickass posters and billboards this time around haha. Marvel's good at that. Hence the teaser poster for Dr. Strange that dropped last week.

Judging from what I hear about him in Civil War, we don't need that to get him.

and the party girl becoming grounded and falling for peter is far more interesting than an equally nerdy girl

Exactly. I'm really hoping they'll do the same as TSSM did.

Have MJ around in the first film, but not as a lead.
Get her to go to the dance with Peter so the GA could think "They already togther?? last time it took 3 movies" just to find out that in no way, MJ wants a serious relationship so they can be as suprised as Peter.

Plus 'opposites attract' is a funnier trope imo.

3-. Marvel deal is announced aka "The New Hope" (SW reference intended)
4-. Word surfaces that Marvel are considering O'Brien and Lerman and taking Spidey back to High-school, Oscop leads the charge as the Dylan raid leader aka "O'Brien v SHH: Power struggle"
5-. Shortlist is revealed and Asa Butterfield and Tom Holland are present, they become frontrunners, Oscop loses hope and Dylan fancasters put up one last fight aka "Casting wars: Battle Royale"
6-. Final shortlist is revealed, Holland comes out on top and a few Dylan fancasters dissapear aka "A new Beginning"

It's really facinating.
