Into the Spider-Verse Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse News and General Discussion Thread

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is a masterpiece in animated storytelling, and is hands-down one of the greatest superhero movies ever made.

I never thought that I would ever witness another Spider-Man movie that would give me the same level of feels that Spider-Man 2 did ... But here we are. And I couldn't be happier about it.

I randomly rented this is on the xbox store as this film got lost amongst the rubble of other films . Decided to give it a watch and wow just wow. This film was crafted beautifully and pretty much my surprise of 18/19. Just great animation, action and story telling in general. Such a shame i didn't give it a chance in the cinema.I know its sad but i gave applause after it finished lol Not one minute was wasted. They took a risk with this film and in my honest opinion it delivered.

Don't feel bad! At a birthday party this weekend, I was talking to some other parents. Their daughter and my daughter are best friends, and my little girl has been talking the film up since it debuted, and they just got around to checking it out...and they bought it. I'm seeing a lot of this. I think animated was the best way to go for this one, but it kind of limited their money, but they got the movie they wanted. It's going to pay dividends down the road when the inevitable sequel comes out. Also, this was an Oscar win that was (for a change) well deserved. They got some recognition, a little money, and the sequel will hit the ground running.

I know it's way late, but I finally watched this film. It came free with my new 4K player, so I couldn't say no to that........haha.

and yeah, it's probably the best "pure" Spidey film out there. It's not afraid to embrace all aspects of Spidey lore while at the same time not taking itself too seriously ( which fits Spidey ).

Plus, I really liked the art/animation style and visuals. It's literally like a comic book come to life.

I'm assuming they are planning sequels, yes? I hope so, cuz I want to see more adventures with the gang, especially more of Spider-Gwen. :hrt:

Last I heard, there is a Spider-Women sequel planned, a Spider-Verse 2, and a Spider-Ham animated cartoon series! I hope all these happen, and, most importantly, that they maintain that fresh creative edge that the first film has.

nice. as long as we get more Spider-Gwen!! :)

I'm hoping we also get some video games based on Spider-Verse, cuz I think a video game series where you get to play as all these different Spidey characters, in this art and animation style, could be really cool.

Watching this again, just noticed an Oh Hello! On Broadway billboard in Timesquare which is great. Also, I thought this while watching in theaters but their take on Kingpin reminds me of Tony Soprano. It's the voice and posture.

Not in any malicious way whatsoever, its pretty awesome going through Twitter and seeing how many people are saying they "regret" not seeing Spiderverse in theaters. Really speaks to how well this is connecting to audiences. I can't imagine any other Spiderverse installment topping this but I hope they are worthy that will please the growing audience.

I regret watching it only once and not following the hype around it too much during its release. :( Been watching it almost every night on Netflix though. Still love all the characters. It’s just so good. :hrt:

Anyway, are there any GIFs of the Times Squares of the different universes? I’m looking through Tumblr and couldn’t find one.

It's pretty much an instant classic. I'm certain Lord and Miller understand the bar they've set and the high expectations that follow. They have the ambition to clear it too, not just on future films, but I'm sure the other series projects they will help create. That's all we can ask for..

I'm one of the people that regret not seeing it in theaters. I was never sold on the idea of this movie to begin with, and I just couldn't be bothered to get to a theater for it. But after watching it at home, I wish I'd given it my box office money and support.

So many good lines in this movie.

My favorite at the moment

"No! I'm not gonna sit there and watch Spider-Man die again without doing anything about it. I'm not doing that again!"

Truth. My fave is still where Peter B. Parker is on the roof and Miles is trying to make him feel guilty.

*screaming into his fold of his arm*
"NO! Do NOT LET HIM WIN!"

"It's a leap of faith". So was this movie, and it paid off.

I finally gave it a first rewatch, and it got more enjoyable than it was on first view.
