No Way Home Spider-Man: No Way Home General News & Discussion Thread (TAG SPOILERS)

Is it even a Spider-Man movie if Peter doesn't cry? I think Peter has cried in every movie in the series lol. I can't recall a moment from Homecoming at the top of my head but I can for every other.

Definitely at least tearing up here, and could probably count his breakdown buried under the rubble

I think Civil War is the one he doesn't cry in, but he's only in it like ten minutes, most of which is a fight scene.

Yea Peter crying, including specifically Holland’s Peter crying, isn’t anything new.

Very true. Though given the potential stakes of this movie, it's still very much interesting how all of it might affect Peter on an emotional level.

An excerpt from his recent British GQ interview. Really curious to see the context of this scene.

Slightly off-topic (I guess) and over-analyzing, but watching that makes me realize there is more of a difference between Tom and Peter than it might seem at first glance. He has a more assured, little more cocky (not in a *****ey way, but self-assured) demeanor and a deeper, more mature voice (plus obviously a British accent) IRL, whereas with Peter he deliberately acts and talks more like a kid and I think pitches his voice higher than it actually is.

Nope. If there's any multiverse element in NWH, it will probably be saved for the third act while the rest of the movie will solely be focused on him on the run with Ned and MJ, and even then it probably won't be that big. Maybe face off against both Doc Ock and Electro at the same time and struggle but eventually succeed on his own.

If they do save the Spider-Verse stuff for the third act, if it's in NWH at all, I hope they find a way to integrate it organically rather than just have it pop up outta nowhere.

If Holland does indeed take a break from the role, that'd be a great opportunity to cast Miles Morales. Who would you pick for him? Ideally it should be a relative unknown who's a few years younger than Holland.

I still feel like Holland's Spider-man is far too young to introduce Miles. If they were to introduce him in live action I think it would be best to keep him in an alternate universe to Holland's Peter. You could arguably have him set in the Raimi or Webb-verses and have him tutored by a seasoned Spider-man. Or you could go really wacky and have him in the Nicholas Hammond Spider-man reality and have him take up the mantle from a retired Spider-man.

Holland deserves a brake honestly and if that's what he wants to do all the power to him. The dude has been working almost non stop on movies since like 2013 and with him still being pretty young he can always naturally come back into it if he wants too at any point in his career.

I agree. I just wish his obvious attempts to prove himself more than Peter Parker would meet with more success. His performance in The Devil All The Time was almost unanimously praised even by people who didn't like the rest of it, but the movie flopped, and Cherry looks like it's panning out the exact same way, praise for Holland but trashing the rest of the movie. And I don't have a lot of hope for Uncharted, considering an Uncharted movie starring Tom Holland has been a joke to a lot of people all along.

I'd like to see him have a successful non-MCU movie that gives him that other breakout into a variety of roles. So far it seems like he's trying and failing even though his performances are mostly being well-received.

Cherry was directed by the Russo's themselves too. Poor Tom Holland.

He needs to be in one of the great (usually A24) upcoming director’s film... Lowery, Aster, Saulnier, Mitchell, McDowell, Mills, or Garland.

I’d also love it if he got into a Villeneuve, Nolan, Baumbach, or Jarmusch. Heck, maybe a Lanthimos would be fun (well weird fun) and neat.

He need to look to Driver for inspiration for concurrent/post Spider-Man directors to work with.

I'd add Robert Eggers to that list as well. What he did with Pattinson in The Lighthouse was nothing short of amazing and I would love to see what Holland could do in that kind of role.

Holland has also mentioned being friends with Pattinson.

Imagine them co-starring in a movie like that. Their big scene together in The Devil All The Time was fantastic.

The multiverse is filled with endless opportunities. Just stumbled across these and figured I'd share. Kinda freaky how well some of these swaps work.

Wtf

These are so freaky lol. How do people do this stuff??

The Tom Holland in the Raimi films deepfake actually looks pretty good. The other 2 (Tobey in MCU and Tobey in ASM) seem really off though. Like Tobey's face cant really match the other 2's head without looking weird lol.

Tobeys face over Garfields looks like Topher Grace.
EDDIE BROCK AS THE NEW SPIDER-MAN CONFIRMED

Huh, another instance of mo-cap swinging. I hope that's because it's going to be the Iron Spider suit and not an alternative to using practical ones to hide spoilers from public eye.

It's probably the spoilers thing. Let's face it. This is probably the most anticipated film of 2021 and people are thirsty for info.

They did everything in their power to keep Evan Peters appearance a secret and it STILL got out. They're gonna try, but success is entirely dependant on the gumption of those close enough to do something.

Pasted this from another thread.

Punisher would've been ideal to use in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

They could've featured him in a storyline like his first appearance where he mistakenly hunted Spider-Man because he thought he was guilty.

It would be as good and appropriate a debut as having Wolverine first debuting to fight the Hulk in the MCU. And since No Way Home is dealing with Multiverse shenanigans, Publisher would fit right in.
