No Way Home Spider-Man: No Way Home Spoiler Discussion Thread

Why does Toby and Andrew get a pass than ?

Is it not also lazy writing to not explain the reason behind Toby liking MJ and Andrew liking Gwen by your logic ?

Far From Home started with Peter already having a crush on MJ.

Just like Spiderman 1 started with Toby having a crush on MJ.

And TASM 1 started with Andrew having a crush on Gwen.

It's the exact same thing.

There was no big long moment where Toby or Andrew realized they liked there respective love interest.

They already did before the events of the film.

The difference here is that we didn't see what Tobey or Andrew's relationship or even perception of their love interests were. MCU MJ was a complete B toward Peter in Homecoming, and instead of going from an unknown to having a crush on her, we straight up see him not liking her at all to being in love with her.

Think of it like this, it'd be like being best buds with MCU Flash in Far From Home after that whole "Penis Parker" debacle in Homecoming. MCU Peter had a crush on Liz in homecoming, but this was the first time we met both characters and Liz wasn't damn near antagonistic toward Peter in Homecoming like Flash and MJ were. You can piece things together when you know next to nothing about the character, but when you see her sarcastically teasing him in every scene with her, it's a much harder sell that he would like this person as much as he did

I really don’t think the filmmakers thought about this as much as you just did in your post. LOL

Your probably right lol but at least they realized it was impossible to explain this so they swept under the rug unlike me lol.

Michelle Jones Watson is essentially an original character, not really the comics MJ.

The Electro thing is a plot hole. But I also don't much care lol

Yeah we kinda have to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I mean if they were strictly following those rules they would been forced to bring in Topher Grace Venom instead of Electro.

And I'm pretty sure know one would wanted that lol.

Andrew needed another rogue to against Electro was great choice.

Now this i agree with.

MJ was complete ******* to Peter in homecoming granted I did fine her lines funny but yeah they pushed that too far.

That was fixed in Far From Home and No Way Home.

But even you gotta admit it's much better than MJ being a ******* to Peter while In a relationship like in the Rami triolgy.

MJ basically stoped that behavior in Far From Home and was zero trace of it in there relationship in No Way Home while MJ from the Rami triolgy got even more cruel as time went one.

The electro thing is probably a plot hole. Although its funny since they later acknowledge that Electro hasn't see Peters face before. So hey. i guess they forgot their own logic at some point

Same with Venom being brought into the MCU. Surely it would be SM3 Venom?

But then i think you probably could find quite a few moments like that in the film with various characters.

And plus wasn't the dilemma at the end that villains from all over the spiderverse were gonna be brought into the MCU and they had to stop it? You telling me all these many villains knew he was peter parker?

The movies love having villains find out his identity lol hell Peter somehow always ends up without his mask in the final fight.

So I can buy that All those villains from the spider verse knew.

Michelle Jones Watson is essentially an original character, not really the comics MJ.

That will probably change when we inevitably see her again.

She basically has a fresh start now.

They are slowly peeling back the Mary Jane/Michelle onion. First we find out her nickname is MJ, now we find out that her real last name is Watson, in the next movie or two we'll find out that she has a Nanna or something who calls her Mary Jane.

They hinted at her family in this movie, I'm guessing we'll see them introduced before the next trilogy is done.

.

No i don't think they will go that far.

Norman did ask if she was Mary Jane and she corrected him.

All you need to know is that she is the replacement Mary Jane for this Spider-man.

I think we as a society need to take more time to appreciate how glorious Holland new suit at the end of this film was :D

Honestly I think the entire ending is a bit underrated.

Or at least it's not being praised enough as it should be.

In my eyes is neck to neck with The Dark Knight ending.

I gave me every emotional joy sadness exceiment fear a bittersweet feeling summed up Spiderman as character so well and beautiful and made me feel proud to be a Spider-Man fan.

I love the fact that this movie ends with Peter in the same position as Raimi's Peter was in the first SM film. On his own, home made suit and police scanner on his phone (Spider-Man PS4).

If handled right, the next trilogy could be on par with the Raimi films.

I'm still not convinced we will get another trilogy. Holland seems to be having his Hugh Jackman moment. where Hugh knew he couldn't play Wolverine forever and was appearing here and there till he found the right moment to leave.

Holland seems to be up and down right now when it comes to whether he feels its right to stop or not. And i guess uncharted will be a big factor for him in terms of how many roles he starts to get in.

Don't give them any ideas...

I'm pretty sure we will.

I think that having to lie about this movie along with it's depressing moments the Chaos behind the scenes the backlash of Uncharted specifically him the whole Sony Disney situation as well as the whole fame and sleep paralysis plus the pandemic made him have a moment of crisis.

I think he just needs a long break because of all the things I just listed.

We probably won't see the next triolgy for couple of years but we will eventually get it.

Tom also has another MCU appearance serperate from his triolgy.

This won't be another Spiderman 4 or Amazing Spiderman 3.

And of the of chance it is well....

I can't think of a better way to end his time as Spiderman than this film.

I did find that interesting and wonder if it'll actually pay off at all. I assume her name is Mary Michelle Jones-Watson?

The ending was high key the best part of the film. I was shocked and so exited to think about where things were heading.

Also Holland is totally coming back.

I agree on both of those statements.

Woah... hold up... did they show Uncle Ben's gravestone in the movie!?!? How did I miss that??
That’s from the video game… I didn’t want to post a screenshot of this film; but his grave wasn’t next to her’s in NWH.
