The lack of a real stinger really surprised me aswell considering I'm sure they could have put something better in there than what we actually got which was pretty much nothing.

Also, while I didn't love the trailer I'm atleast glad that Molina and Dafoe got somekind shine with there narrations being in there and the Peter Parker line from Molina was super effective IMO.

It's just too bad that everything else surrounding them just doesn't look as exciting or they have to force in some crappy, awkward jokes at the expense of those characters.

TBH i don't think the villains are there for development.
But there has to be some sort of personality, something for them to do. Like, not even one shot of Thomas Haden Church? Is he even in this? Or is he gonna be a sand cloud the entire movie?

What did strange mean about something coming through at the end?

*sees fan event reactions and likes to dislikes on YouTube trailer*

Well, I think it’s safe to say responses to the trailer in this thread don’t reflect the real world. :funny:
Thought the same thing - the people that are in the know of leaks, etc. were/are complaining because of the lack of Tobey/Andrew but general audiences, general fans online, etc. aren't aware of those leaks at all, to them those are mere rumors to be taken with a grain of salt. So why on earth would Sony reveal anything on that level in their marketing? Makes no sense. Once this movie hits, you'll get interviews/press with all three Spider-Men together, but to reveal that officially makes no sense. Everyone that is pouting over the lack of Tobey/Andrew is in the minority.
Seems to me like you're just passive-aggressively handwaving away criticism, bud, but alright.
Not at all, the criticism is valid. The CGI does look a bit off here and there, the jokes don't land, etc. But the in-person event, and the hype build-up leading up to the trailer we just got has led to a massive marketing W for Sony. How on earth can you disagree? The hype is on another level now, regardless of the criticisms or lack of reveals.

So did any of the cast members show up for tonight's event?

Nah man, we gotta keep those secrets close to the chest. Show barely anything. This is the way.
- Sony :o

Wow…I’m baffled that they decided to keep your main selling point of the movie hidden like that. Sure the movie is guaranteed to make bank regardless, but c’mon…

Tobey and Andrew are no doubt edited out.

The sight of Lizard punched by an unseen force makes me laugh!

Liked the trailer but I didn’t love it. The highlights were Ock, Electro and hearing Dafoe’s voice. Also Sandman and Lizard too.

Just noticed the J.K Simmons moment in the teaser too.

The weakest thing in this trailer is far and away the awkward humor from Peter & the gang, as well as Zendaya trying to pin the blame on Strange. I loathe this "MJ" so much.

I've NEVER liked her version of MJ or her brand of humor.

The effects do look really dodgy. I get the feeling this film is going to be a bit of a mess.

That's what I'm wondering. A lot more going on in that climax than antecipated it seems.

Just noticed the J.K Simmons moment in the teaser too.
I'm surprised no one is talking about this. Was nice to see him there.

Part of me thinks this is some Endgame type of tinkering for trailer purposes. Perhaps the other two Spider-Men are here in this shot and they've edited them out.

The "secret" is all over the youtube comments. Would be so much better letting those viewers see the surprise in the trailer rather than read about lizard's head snapping back in the comments. This would have been one of the biggest hype moments in a trailer for the GA.

Is Sony using their in-house effects company for this?

Ock looks so ****ing bad in the bridge sequence.
Very questionable CGI in some of these shots, agreed. A let down considering how great Doc Ock looked wayyy back in Spider-Man 2

Also what does “scooby doo this crap” even mean in this context?

It makes no damn sense. Once again awful jokes coming from these subpar screenwriters who wrote the first two.

Ugh, I'm sorry y'all, you guys know me im the eternal optimist but this trailer actually makes me more frustrated the more i think about it.

Ok so im getting the feeling that you only see the full raimi goblin suit in first appearance and then he loses the helmet by the climax.

It makes sense since i am assuming Doc Ocks "you ain't peter parker" is actually set early on in the film. and the helmet goblin is clearly in the same scene. both set in the day time. while the climax is at night. and there is a shot thats clearly Defoe with goggles on at night also.
