I have never expected ITSV quality honestly. Nor have I expected SM2 quality. I more or less expected same quality as prior 2. Like the old saying goes, 1 is a fluke, 2 is a trend. Never really expected something Cap 2 quality from the same team as the prior 2.

I mean, I feel like "same team" is more fluid in the MCU's case. A lot of the people that worked on the prior 2 (Feige and some of the writers) also worked on a lot of great films within the MCU. Maybe ITSV is a high bar but I was hoping for something as resonating as Endgame or DOFP (it being a send-off film and all).

Obviously we will have to wait and see, but I will say I liked the first trailer more.

But the director is the same. We already have 2 movies showing us what John Watts Spider-Man looks like. I never expected anything to suddenly change here

I wonder if this is Electro's entrance. He's still blue in this shot.

You might actually be right. It would explain why Tom isn't facing/looking at him, and it does look like he's manifesting from the power lines like he does in TASM2

He is visually blue in that shot, but it also looks like he is absorbing yellow electricity in that same shot. You also see bouncing from various electricity points briefly in the trailer. Bit like in TASM2

Although its been pointed out that in the climax it looks like he might have a Stark reactor on his chest.

Do we know if Thomas Haden Church or Rhys Ifans are coming back? I know we have Sandman and The Lizard but I would love to see Flint Marko / Curt Connors and not just the easy CGI route of having them in sandstorm/lizard form all the time.

A said leaker claimed Church and Ifans do appear, but i don't get the feeling they are in it that much. They might voice the characters and end up more visual cameo appearances. While CGI covers the rest.

I thought about that... but then who would be threatening to come through AFTER the climax?

I see that line as a setup for The Multiverse of Madness. Maybe not. But it would make sense as a set up.

Yeah my take was that we are seeing the ground laid for MoM with that line and scene. Either Spidey and Strange are chilling after cleaning up after the movie's plot when things suddenly go south or Strange does something drastic and this rolls over into some aspect of MoM.

The question for me is will we see any of the Peter's or the Multiverse villain characters at the start of MoM?

MCU directors don't have an insignificant role, but they're also not as significant as in other franchises (i.e. Raimi Spider-Man, Nolan"s Batman, Singer's X-Men). We knew since the Iron Man 2 days that MCU directors can vary greatly in the kind of quality films they put out.
I don't think Watts coming back means they can't deliver on the same level as ITSV/Endgame/DOFP.

Also, I would make the case that both Homecoming and Far From Home are well done films on a technical level (meaning story, pacing, etc.) even if I don't really like its version of Spider-Man. The problem with MCU Spider-Man, I would argue, is the concept and not the execution - by that standard if the same team is doing the Spider-Verse concept, I expect the execution to be pretty good.

Jon Watts was perfectly suited for Homecoming and what type of film that was. I don't think he was a good fit for Far From Home and, from what I've seen, No Way Home. Sometimes stories and characters need a different director and a different approach to stay fresh (The Dark Knight Rises is a good example too). He might be easy to work with, he might deliver what they want, there's a whole side of business we simply don't know.

He is worst director in history of cinema which got opportunity to direct trilogy of movies.

I've seen some speculation that he may actually appear closer to his ASM2 blue look at first but gets upgraded thanks to some of the other villains helping him. Maybe some Stark tech lol.

Actress, people just seem to dislike her for some reason and I don’t know why?

I am agnostic towards her in general.

Nothing about her offends me or anything.

At the same time she is everywhere these days and... I don't get it. She is okay as an actress. Not terrible but not all that compelling either.

This hasn't made me hate her but I can see how many feel she's being "forced" on the public when I don't think anyone is really asking for THIS much Zendaya in their lives.

Probably has more to do that her and Tom Holland have zero chemistry so the relationship just reads as false.

She had more chemistry with Timothy Chalamet in his Dune dreams lol

On here?

I've only seen people say that they dislike MJ, nothing about Zendaya personally or her acting skills.

This.
I don’t see why people have a hard time comprehending statements such as that. It falls
In like with the feelings towards Tom Holland. It’s impossible to dislike him and his obvious acting ability/potential.

That being said, the writing team has done him a serious injustice just like they have with Zendaya. It has nothing to do with them.

Well the biggest issue there is that the relationship actually began OFF SCREEN.

The end of HC shows, yeah, MJ has an interest in Peter revealed in the end. But there was zero inkling Peter was interested in her.

Cut to the start of FFH and Peter is gaga over her and we have no idea why (Other than Zendaya is a cutie.) he is that into her and that goes for her too.

I think so far they are fine as a couple but it feels perfunctory since we don't know what this relationship is based off of beyond high school hormones.

(Golf clap.)

Boy will Peter be really thrown by the Spidey that shows up from a portal and machine guns all the baddies and says goodbye in Japanese.

I think something from here will roll over to MoM, and as long as they deliver a solid resolution to this film while doing so, I'd be in favour of that. It should help hype up MoM even more as many people are going to be seeing this film. I'm also expecting MoM to be a massive upgrade on the first DS film and am really looking forward to it.
