I think the 1st trailer was better. Which is rare for an MCU film as normally, the 1st trailers do nothing for me and the 2nd ones are a lot better. Completely opposite for me here

I'm actually astonished they showed as much of the Liberty Island climax as they did. I was expecting one or two shots at best.

I wasn't surprised by the lack of Maguire and Garfield and while this trailer had its moments, I also preferred the teaser a lot more overall.

The first trailer felt more cohesive, and had a pay off at the end revealing Molina's Ock.

Did they? All the meaty stuff (the 3 Spidey's) has been edited out.

Visually the liberty island climax looks really boring, almost like X-Men 2000 levels. I hope it plays better in the film.

Well yeah, I meant besides the other Spider-Men not being featured.

I hope sandman isn't just a CGI sand cloud during the final battle. I have a feeing its gonna be hard to see anything if alot of non-stop CGI debris is all over the screen.

I agree, which is why when people say the villains won't be developed as if it doesn't matter, I wholesale disagree. Yeah, not all will be. But you need at least a few of them to be. Especially if the premise is Peter and Strange have a fight over the fate of them. The audience needs to care. It would be stupid to bring back especially Ock and Gobby, 2 well regarded villains, and make them punching bags with little character.

Already from two trailers I am guessing Ock and maybe Electro have something like an arc.

Which makes sense for those characters I think.

CGI used to work a lot better with real plates, now everything is CGI and you can easily tell. That bit of Spidey vs Octopus action in the bridge is pure animation. There isn't a single real thing on the entire screen. I know I'm an old man yelling at cloud but goddamn it they are ruining everything!!!

Sadly everyone can’t be as talented as Denis.

I feel your pain. Trust me I do. I’ve had that issue with the MCU for a long time now. For me personally, it just takes me completely out of the moment at times. The to top it off, the quality of CGI used is just lackluster as well.

I'm quite disappointed given how amazing Ock's visuals looked for their time in SM2. 17 years is a long time in tech so I would have hoped things looked that much more eye-popping by now.

So no one is gonna talk about the fact the Statue of Liberty with the scaffolding and Caps shield is completely different than the Statue of Liberty at the very end when Strange says he can't stop them from coming through? Different universes?

There are so many cool creative ways to use Sandman for an action sequence. I have a feeling we are just going to get the sand cloud unfortunately though…..

well I mean this is a time for celebration imo. This trailer has like over 30m views already this will the film to basically bring full crowds or close to it back. imo this should be a triumphant time for Spider-Man fans. You guys got everything I want. Trilogy, PS5 Games, Animation. X-MEN fans would gladly be in your position but oh well
Huh? The wolverine ps5 game made by the same studio got announced. It’s a huge deal.

I think that particular shot is at the very end or after the climax because we saw the shield collapsing earlier, so it's safe to assume the scaffolding will get destroyed as well.

I thought about that... but then who would be threatening to come through AFTER the climax?

I see that line as a setup for The Multiverse of Madness. Maybe not. But it would make sense as a set up.

I don't think that Strange line takes place in the climax. Seems to me like there's a lot of trailer editing trickery going on in that stinger. In the closeup shot when he's talking, he's wearing the cloak while in the shots of him standing on the torch, he doesn't have it.

Guessing that line of dialogue takes place earlier in the movie.

Like I earlier, the trailers for this as of now make me feel like this will be on par with the first 2 Holland movies. Which would put it somewhere in the middle of the pack of the MCU for me if I I right.

I got the same vibe. Which is disappointing to think about if true, because it's supposedly an event film.

That and you're hoping it would be close to ITSV in quality if you're doing Spider-Verse.

I have never expected ITSV quality honestly. Nor have I expected SM2 quality. I more or less expected same quality as prior 2. Like the old saying goes, 1 is a fluke, 2 is a trend. Never really expected something Cap 2 quality from the same team as the prior 2.
