OK there have been some great quotes from people who understand and are upset by what Marvel has been doing to Spider-man (and many other Marvel characters.). Some of us are tired of it and no longer buy comics as a result.
Joe Q. and Marvel have chosen to ignore our concerns and instead choose to believe that everything is fine and only a few people are complaining.
well let's try to send them a message. If you are unhappy that Marvel has turned its PREMIER superhero in to a status lower than a sidekick.

If you hate the fact that Spider-man is now the weak link of the Avengers, and a guy who gets beat up by people MUCH less powerfull than him (wolverine/Cap). Voice your opinion.

If you HATE all the changes, such as Gwen becoming a ****e, new costume, stingers, and all the other crap that is going on right now. SAY SO.

Not many people visit this section of the hype. so I would ask you to find others who feel the same way and to ask them to come on here and put their name.

We know they don't listen but it doesn't mean we shouldn't tell them.

this is not a thread for debate. Those who disagree and like what is going on can please not respond to this thread. Thank you.

my name is Frantz Kenol and I no longer buy comic books.

I'm not Singing this thing (Yet) I'lll wait see see the end after CW who knows he might have a plan.

I don't buy anything with Spider-Man in it anymore, my last being the 3-issue Road to Civil War arc in ASM, and I'm not buying anything that has to do with Civil War except for Runaways/Young Avengers because I need something to fill the gap until the regular Young Avengers comic gets rolling again.

Don't worry about a petition. Just vote with your wallet. If enough people do it, they'll get the message.

i don't buy new ASM issues anyway
in my opinion, this all started with Sins Past...

Aloha,
Agreed. You might also want to voice your opinions on the Marvel Boards. I read plenty of the same complaints on their boards as well.

We rollin' 3 deep, then.

I'm not against a petition, but Marvel pays these things no mind. These are the guys who thought "Sins Past", "The Other", and "Spider-Man: Unmasked" were all terrific ideas. They clearly don't care what the fans think.

Also, according to Joey Q and JMS, we're all the same 10 people anyways...

so in theitr minds the world is made out of what 30 people?
I'm in... I've been voting with my wallet ever since sins past...

Aloha,
Regarding the 10 people comment. Several years ago, before JMS-Spider-Man was in the top teens and twentys out of 100 comics every month accordng to Diamond Distrtibutors. Now New Avengers, ASM and Ultimate Spider-Man are in the top ten if not five. ASM and Ultimate Spider-Man have benn running head to head for several years now-often Ultimate beating ASM.As much as I dislike many of the changes that have been stated, I fear that Internet fans are going to become a joke to Marvel and DC (if not already). Whatever the story arc, artist or writer- it will be a GIVEN that the internet fans won't like it! Then the sales numbers will come in and all those that run Marvel will see that sales are doing well. Second printings of various issues within the hated arcs are selling out. Most importantly, Licensing of the Spider-Man brand is going through the roof.A while back I started a thread titled " Not your fathers Marvel comics, anymore". Marvel comics has made a corporate decision not to let current stories be dictated by continuity. That decision goes way above JOE Q. For years, DC was not continuity driven. Marvel has taken some aspects of DC in this new era of the company. In the old days, continuity was King and its what made Marvel unique. Based upon most age surveys that have been done on these boards, less than 30% of all the people here at SpiderMAn Hype were born when Spider-Man came out in 1962. In MArvel's thinking-if you want the Good Old days- you can get Essentials,Masterworks and other Premiere Hard covers and trades. Like the tobacco industry-they know that a certain segment is going to fall out of buying comic books or certain titles of comic books, at any given month. This is why they are constantly seeking out New readers or readers who for whatever reason- have less of an emotional tie in to Continuity. In my opinion, we started on this slippery slope with the success of the first Spider-MAn movie. ORGANICS SUCK and will always suck in my opinion-but the Spider-Man movie is one of the largest sales grossing movies of all times-so if you were in the BUSINESS of making comics -whose opinion would you listen too? Comic book fans who believe the web shooters are and ESSENTIAL aspect of the Peter Parker/Spider-Man mythos or 400 million dollars in movie revenue? My biggest gripe right now as a fan is that the character development and exploration of the enhanced Peter Parker is not being explored. It's not that many of these new ideas are bad, they just lack development based upon the hard core continuity of the character. Example-In the Other-The Black Panther allows Peter to eat The Heart Shaped herb. If the HSH dosen't kill you, it enhances all of your senses. Peter's rebirth should have included heightened senses. That's not been developed or mentioned again .While becoming an Avenger for Spider-Man is something that is WAY OVER DUE-please see ASM annual #3-Under no circumstances should Peter Parker not think that his Iron Spidey suit is not bugged( pun intended). That suit is recording EVERY body function of Peter's. But, unlike the testing that he would have gotten from Reed Richards-these tests are being done without his full understanding by Tony Stark.Peter Parker is smart enough to understand all of this.Yet, he's being portrayed as a fool.
I have given the link to Marvel boards-I strongly suggest that all who dislike the current changes let their voices and pocket books be heard.

If Marvel cared about what the fans thought we wouldn't be in this mess... all a petition will do is give them something to laugh at.

How people on the internet feel about Spidey dosen't account for how all the people who buy Spidey feel. Just sayin.

This is probably something that I'll never understand. So, because you're upset with Spider-Man you're not going to buy comic books at all anymore? I could sit here and name dozens of comics from Marvel, DC, Image, and independents that are amazing and worth reading.

Why punish the industry for something that it can't control?
