I guess I do need to share some of the blame here though. During my five year stint at Marvel, I had my fair share of bombs. Peter finding out that he was the lone survivor of an alien planet; Uncle Ben returning as a lovable leprechaun to help teach Peter valuable lessons at the end of each issue; and let's not forget Spider-America, when Spider-Man was killed, resurrected, and then taken under the wing of Captain America, his "father figure" for that arc. You have to admit, though, the "Stars-and-Stripes-Spidey" costume was awesome!

Dude, the fanboys just didn't understand your work. I mean the sales were huge for the Stars and Stripes Spidey arc. Plus we had mutiple printings with multiple covers for the survivor of a lone planet issues.

You should see what I did during my run on The Fantastic Four. That arc where I revealed Sue to be a Lesbian and that she was divorcing Reed to shack up with the Black Cat (our special guest star) almost caused fans to burn down the building.

Yeah, I remember that one. when I first read it, I shocked the whole crowd at mcdonalds by yelling "I knew it! I knew it!" or was it because I was spanking my stinger over the artwork again? Anyway I always knew Sue and Felicia were meant for each other. I mean, you made it so darn obvious that they're truly soulmates.

And I did the "editoring" of that arc and I'll tell you, what Larry wrote that I had to take out, because of the comics code at the time, is still in my sock drawer, and you're not getting it back Lar, you probably wouldn't want it back anyway.

Yeah....I remember my Spidey story that my "editoring" totally messed up...

It was the one that had Peter unemployed and washing dishes. He then broke a magical Bettie Page Shot Glass, and was then given the totemistic powers of Bettie Page....but not just her, all the Bettie Pages that had come before her!! He grew two very round and voluptuous stingers out of his chest, and he donned a new Spider-Man costume which incorporated the "Spider-Stilettos" and the "Spider-Bra"!!

He then started working under the...er....wing of Black Cat, and learned how to make his new "stingers" the most effective weapons possible. She then made him a new costume and called him "Breast Spidey". Spidey remained her sidekick until Black Cat's silicone breast implants ruptured, and the silicone formed a bizarre creature called "the Gatekeeper", who was a mystical being that hunted all the Bettie Page Totems and killed them slowly!

Only after Peter used his stingers to smother the Gatekeeper, and then transferred his totem-powers to Black Cat, restoring her bust and her usefulness in the Spider-verse, was he freed of this curse!

I can't believe people hated it....especially after I had the variant edition with the cross-dressing Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham!!

I had Dotson do the artwork of course. I think the best part of the arc is the two issues which had the threesome between Sue, Felicia and Emma Frost. I know deep down the fanboys loved it, I mean sales were huge. So what if we had to hide the issues in brown paper.

That was a brutal issue. I honestly believe that is the real reason why Spidey is wearing the armored costume now.
