Comics Spidey in July '07

Possible. As the cover of ASM 542 shows Spidey meets Kingpin in some pretty hall which I sure is not a prison. Maybe Kingpin outsmarts Peter or Peter spares him.

Having Kingpin as the mastermind behind the shooting of Aunt May kinda kills the hype on 'if Peter will kill?' thing. We kinda knows Kingpin will survive and even he will be killed, he belongs to DD

Nah. He belongs to Spidey. DD is just borrowing him. :word: :cwink:

Spider-Man definitely sounds like it's going to be a really great ride all around as we head into the middle of the summer and into the One More Day event. Definitely will be cool to see what Ms. Arrow is up to in FNSM and Sensational sounds...well, Sensational (yes, I'm corny).

Amazing sounds interesting but I highly doubt that after all the trouble of getting Kingpin out of jail, his wife recently dying, and everything that has happened in the pages of DD that Spidey is going to kill Kingpin. Just sounds like another Quesada tease. In other words, all the usual suspects fall into line...hook...line...and STINKER!!! :wow:

I think there's going to be a big twist at the end but Spidey's definitly not gonna kill kingpin, but somethin unexpected's gonna happen. Here's what i think, i think slowly JMS is turning Spidey into Batman (which is cool in my opinion), spidey's gonna cut loose and make his enemies afraid of him. He's going to use fear as his weapon. I think by the end of this story, Spider-man is gonna scare the living s*%& outta Kingpin somehow and Kingpin will think twice before ever messing with Spider-man again. Thats my theory.

I really don't see too much frightening Kingpin. Unless Spider-Man has a new power where he can morph into a giant spider that's 100 feet tall. That will scare the dookie out of any man.

I don't think that anybody on this site should be worried about Spider-Man killing The Kingpin. I honestly believe that what Spider-Man fans need to start worrying about is One More Day. I saw the cover to the latest Wizard, which is artwork from One More Day, and it's a VERY interesting cover. Yeah, it's Spider-Man holding a dead body. And it's not Aunt May.

You do the math.

Let the *****ing commence. :yay:

Mother****er! Those no good sons of *****es! God damn it Marvel!!!!

Joe Q, JMS must ****ing die!!!

Good enough? ;)

Seriously though, they better not kill Mary Jane.

If that comes to pass, JMS is going to be one of the most hated Spider-Man writers ever, really (I mean more so than he already is now).

They're not gonna kill Mary Jane, i PROMISE you all that. They can't kill her. There are just certain characters in comic books that you CANNOT kill. J Jonah Jameson for example. MJ is another. Mary Jane is an essential part of the Spiderman Mythos. If MJ were to die then, well, then it seriously means that JMS is trying to completely re-create Spider-man and start over from zero. Mj's been around since the 70's, they've been married since the 80's. If she dies, then Peter will never find another woman again.

Its sorta like "fool me once, fool me twice". Gwen already died. If MJ died, it would be the end of Peter's love life forever.

Let's just see that if MJ's popularity will save her from some certain evil hand

Yeah, but we also know how full of it Marvel is under Joe Q. They can show you a cover with MJ dead. And tell you MJ dies, and it will be a lie. They did it with Sue in the FF last year or thereabouts.

wow, how much death can Peter handle at one time before slitting his throat? The writers are using death as an appeal to sell spidey comics. While i admit its working (im certaintly curious), its a cheap ploy to sell comics. Marvel really needs to calm down with all these "life-changing" events before they burn themselves out.

Very true.

What Peter did to deserve all the tradegies? He seems to have all sort of troubles happening to him, no matter what universe ^^

You sure?

I saw the cover too.

It looked more like Aunt May to me then MJ.

I think "one more day" is start out with aunt may dying in the hospital. then Peter's gonna cash in that Loki wish for "one more day" with aunt may before he finally says goodbye to her forever. It seems like the most logical way to go...

Seems like it could happen but who knows maybe Peter and MJ might divorce...permanently, that might happen.

Peter Parker is the MU's Job.

But then again so is Tony Stark, Matt Murdock, Speedball and uh.. anyone else "fortunate" enough to have powers.

Looks more like MJ to me because of the hair. But you are right in a respect. It could really be either MJ or Aunt May and I think that's the whole point of the teaser. Just get Spider-Man fans riled up about who could be getting the axe. God only knows what JMS is going to do as his farewell to the Spider-Man book. I just hope that he does some repairs instead of causing more havoc which is what he's usually done with these "bigger" Spidey events since Sins Past. He did all right during Civil War though but I don't want another Other debacle. Ugh.

Yo, what's Quesada's problem man? JMS is not the problem, its Quesada. Quesada doesnt wanna see Peter grow up but for the love of God Peter can't be a kid forever. What kind of character progression would that be? Peter's nearly 30 years old, and they wanna make him act like he's 18 again. Great. I guess we aint never gonna see Peter with a child then. If they get rid of mary jane, it will be the biggest mistake Marvel ever made with the character...

J.M.S has got to be the worst writer for Amazing Spider-Man yet, his stories are always changing the status quo of the comics he can atleast end his run without angering us too much.

Well we all know how the artwork and covers work for Marvel comics leaving you to suspect the worse but it never happens. My guess: Peter ends up killing Kingpin on his revenge blood lust for getting Aunt May shot(coincidence with the movie? I think not) because of his blood lust he ends up missing his chance to be with Aunt May during her final hours hence the name of story 'One More Day' because of this and the fact that she is in danger too Mary Jane leaves Peter for good....:csad:

Anyone has the picture of ASM 539 second printing version?

Worst yet?

I think that might be pushing it a bit.

I far as actually writing the character goes....I felt JMS had a great feel for him.

His ideas sucked though.:csad:

To the guy who said JMS is the worst writer yet... I have one word for you... Byrne. :cwink:

If his ideas sucked, he wouldn't have had a good 3, 4 years of acclaimed stories before Sins Past came along.
